Batman Arkham City did many things right. It was an awesome action game, that improved
on its original in every way. It had a great story, amazing locations, and polished gameplay.
It was everything you could want out of a Batman game. It actually made you feel like
you were the Caped Crusader. Now it is getting another thing right with Downloadable Content.
After a couple mission packs to hold people over, Harley Quinn’s Revenge is what everyone
wanted and what DLC should be.
The game picks up a couple weeks after the end of Arkham City. I’m not going to spoil
anything, so let’s just say Harley Quinn is more upset than normal and she has a plan.
Batman has gone back into Arkham City to rescue several cops that Harley has taken. Things
do not go well, and now Batman has gone missing. You start the game playing as Robin, as he
continues his search for Batman. But the story will just also jump back to Batman and let
you see what happened to him. The story is great. The end of Arkham City left me wanting
more, and it is great to see that the effects of what happened have really taken hold of
the characters. You will be engaged from the very beginning to the end of the 2 hour long
campaign.
The theme of the game really is more is better, and for the most part it is. The gameplay
has not seen any major additions, but that is not a complaint because of how good the
original game was. Everything has the same high level of polish as the main game, with
the great art direction and the unmatched voice acting.
The game however is a stand alone expansion, and does not connect with your main game.
This means you won’t be going off to find more Riddler puzzles. The game does come with
its own collectables, with Harley balloons scattered throughout.
The only complaint is missions could be a little more unique. A lot of times you will
just fight foes, or finding an item and not doing some of the more interesting mission
types. The game is like having cake after an amazing meal. It’s just that little extra
that makes the whole experience that much better.
