>> The Buddh International Circuit has seen the best of motor racing – Formula 1 just a few months
ago. And today, we’re driving one of your everyday cars – a Ford Fiesta Powershift
automatic on the very same track. What makes the Fiesta Powershift special is
the six-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. It has two modes – D- which is your normal
drive mode and L-mode which is best suited for a track like this. In L-Mode the car holds
each gear at maximum rpm and downshifts if you drop below 3500 rpm. Perfect for a day
on the track. Watch as we come into turn 3. Without a fuss
the car drops to 2nd gear from 6th and then blisters down the straight hitting 165 kilometers
an hour at turn 4. Through the chicanes to simulate city traffic and on to some long
sweeping corners. The car’s handling is precise.
After three very entertaining laps, we can say that the Fiesta is probably one of the
best handling cars under 10 lakh rupees. And with the powershift automatic, the drive is
just that much more fun.
