hi I'm Peg from Sony and I'm here to show you how to recover the tablet to
factory settings incase you ever need to restore your tablet
if you are having an issue with your tablet you should always try a
reset by using a small paper clip and inserting it in the side wher it says reset
this is similar to restarting your computer no data will be lost during the process
a factory data reset will restore the tablet to factory settings but you will
lose any applications that you've installed or purchased
once you have restored the tablet you can redownload any apps you have
purchased from the Android Market as long as you use the same Google account that
was used when the apps were purchased
so let's go ahead and show you how this works
from the home screen open the apps drawer
tap settings
tap privacy
tap factory data reset
you will be advised as to what data will be erased
if you select the erase usb storage option any data that you have saved
like music pictures videos etc. will be erased
it is recommended to leave this option unchecked so your files will not be erased
now tap reset tablet
you will be prompted to confirm that you want to restore the tablet
the button will say erase everything
but this just means all of your personal account information and applications
as long as you did not check the erase usb storage option your music pictures
and videos will still be available
the tablet will go through the reset process which will just take a few minutes
once the factory data reset process is complete
you will see the first screen in the setup process which is choose your language
just complete the setup of your tablet and you'll be ready to go
