Alright, you're looking at footage from the Samsung 2433BW LCD monitor.
This is actually a 24-inch monitor and I saw it come into the studio
and I had to do a video on it because my dad uses this monitor
and he loves it to death. He's a big photoshop guy,
he's always got all his, you know, palettes up and his history and everything,
all up on the big screen and he loves it, you're watching it play a Blu-ray demo disc,
because it does do 1080p, and as you can see, I wish you could see, it looks really sharp.
I actually had to tone down the brightness so that the camera wouldn't wash out
and be a big, you know, white mess, but it looks fantastic,
and I wish you guys could see it on Youtube or on the videos,
but right now this is some crystal clear footage using the Blu-ray.
Now, 24-inch monitors regularly use 1920x1200, and this one also does 1920x1200,
which is really good resolution, it's a big picture,
you get a lot of stuff on your desktop all at once,
you could literally have just tons of windows, if you were playing a--
if you had Internet Explorer up or Mozilla Firefox, I mean it's going to take up
that much space. It's a really small, little thing.
Contrast ratio-- you'll notice that was going from black to white there,
very high contrast ratio, 20,000:1 dynamic,
which is about-- eh, the numbers are hard to translate,
but about 1000:1 which is very, very good. So very high contrast ratio,
the blacks are extremely black. As this is a Samsung monitor
you know it's very high quality and it looks great,
so as far as quality goes it's fantastic, when you have it lit on a white screen
very even backlighting all the way through, very uniform, and the brightness looked great,
everything looks awesome. This is a CCFL monitor,
so it's backlit with a compact flourescent bulb, and it looks really great.
I've got to give them, you know, props for it. The actual panel is matte,
so if you were one of those people that's very much into
a matte versus a glossy panel, this is a matte screen,
so it's really good if you're in a bright room or you had a lot of distractions behind you,
stuff reflects a lot... it's a lot easier to clean,
and it's also not going to reflect all the stuff that's behind you
which is very important. You also get a five ms response time
which is extremely fast, that means it's going to be good for movies,
for gaming and stuff like that- five ms is extremely, extremely fast.
You also get 300 cdm squared, or 300 nit,
which is your brightness, and that means that it's very, very bright,
you could play it in... a very bright room--you guessed it,
with the white walls and metal halide lamps above your head,
it'll still look pretty good, and...ironically enough, again,
we're at 60% brightness right here and cranking it up to 100
would make it extremely bright. I was talking about the finish too
on the outside. It's very nice-looking. If you've seen the Touch of Color series,
it's got a similair style. It has this clear little tab right down here
but there's no color in it. Ok? So it's not part of the Touch of Color series
but it does look very sleek, it's piano black all the way around.
Piano black is very cool because it gives you high contrast
versus the image thats on the screen, it does reflect but it's unimportant
because you're not going to be looking at the bezel,
you're going to be looking at the panel. So that's very nice.
Also, power consumption on this thing is about 50-watts,
but, when it shuts down, it has a power-save feature,
less than a watt. So less than one-watt in power-save,
which is great. Once you go past screensaver and putting your monitor to sleep
the monitor itself will go to sleep and it will consume less than one-watt.
Samsung uses technology called MagicColor and MagicBrite for their image processing
and it does a really good job of showing all the detail,
all of the saturation, and a very wide color gamut
of colors on here. It's pretty impressive,
and i've got to say that I like this, it is comparable to the Touch of Color series,
it just doesn't have as many features, like it doesn't swivel, is one thing.
But, you know, monitors swivel anyway, they just don't swivel easily,
so it's pretty similar. Let's talk about the way that it rotates.
If you look at it here, i'm going to rotate it as much as possible.
Darn that looks good! Jeez. I'm going to rotate that all the way there,
and you can see pretty much that's as far as it will go.
And as far as going down, that's about as far down as it will go
which is not very far down, but who looks at their monitor
above their head. Starting off over here,
these are all of your buttons, this is pretty much--
this is your menu button, up and down for selectors,
and this is your power, your source, and then one thing that I like about this
is it has a custom button, and it's programmable,
so if you're doing one setting all the time you can set that one button up
to be programmable and it will pretty much go to that same setting all the time.
So that's pretty interesting. I'm going to go ahead and show you
the bottom of this thing... looking at the back panel
you can see that there's two connectors, it's a DVI and a VGA,
and right now we're using the DVI, you do not need a dual-link
to get the 1980x1200, you can do it with a single-link,
and there is no HDMI on here but you can do HDMI cables in with a converter,
and pretty much it will support HDCP so if you want to play Blu-rays, not a problem.
This right here is your power connector, and that's pretty much it...
now, when you first get this thing into your house and you go to put it together,
I had this problem with the base. It took two people to put enough weight
on top of it to snap the base in, so don't be afraid.
It's got an extremely, extremely sturdy base, and the reason that they did that, I guess,
is just for long-term reliability, Samsung is known for being
one of the manufacturers that produces a product that's going to last for a long time
versus short periods of time. They give you panels that are rated for like 5-10 years,
they give you three-year warranties on most of their products, including this one,
you get a three-year warranty, so, I was afraid to break it,
but when you want to put the screen panel onto this base, put some force on it.
It will snap in there. It's got a rubber bottom and it will snap in,
so don't fear that you're going to break it. This is an awesome monitor guys,
if you want to game, if you want a big monitor for multitasking,
if you want something that's going to last forever
and you're not planning on replacing your monitor for a long time
because you're one of those conservative buyers, this is right up your alley,
and it costs less than the Touch of Color, too, which is excellent
because you're not wasting money on color that you may or may not want.
Now, if you want to go for the Touch of Color, go for it, I love them,
I use those personally, but my dad uses this and he's kind of
and older folkey. I had to kick him in the butt to get a 24, he was stuck with a 19,
I was like 'Dude, you need to move on, your whole world changes when you get
the 1200 lines of resolution...' So, the Samsung 2433BW LCD monitor,
does 1920x1200, it's got HDCP so you can stream Blu-rays,
it will do 1080p, looks great, great price, awesome quality, three-year warranty,
Samsung is the bomb... If you have any questions, e-mail me,
i'll see you guys next time. The Samsung 2433BW 24-inch monitor
