Hey I'm Justin with AmericanMuscle.com, and this is my quick breakdown of the SR Performance
adjustable panhard bar, fitting all 2005 and newer Mustangs. SR Performance has really
made quite an impact in the aftermarket Mustang world, thanks to their wide variety of performance
and suspension components that do fit nicely into just about anyone's budget. If you'd
like to keep tabs on all the latest SR Performance products released for your ride, just click
the link below or up in the corner to subscribe to our YouTube channel. Here you can check
out some of my overviews as well as many other cool Mustang vids. Ok, so to recap, the job
of any panhard bar stock or aftermarket, is to reduce any side to side or lateral movement
of the rear axle, which can otherwise hurt your traction and handling performance. The
problem is, the stock panhard bar is usually not up to the abuse most Mustang owners subject
their cars to. The weaker materials and soft rubber bushings can oftentimes flex, which
means that rear axle is going to be moving all over the place, hurting not only your
traction off the line but also your handling in corners. If you happen to be watching this
video somewhere other than our site just click the link below to go back to our product page.
Here you can read some customer reviews and see some testimonials on how this bar from
SR has improved their handling performance. This particular panhard bar from SR Performance
offers all the bells and whistles you'd like to see in any aftermarket panhard bar, but
for an extremely reasonable price, for starters we're looking at an extremely strong T6 Billet
aluminum for the construction, which has been finished off in this nice sleek black powder
coat. But without a doubt the two biggest features with this bar has to be the full
adjustability, in addition to these two spherical rod end bearings, otherwise known as heim
joints, used to connect the bar to the chassis itself, and to the actual rear axle. That
adjustability is going to allow you to dial in your optimal settings and pinion angle,
which is truly important if you're trying to improve on those 60ft times. In addition,
that adjustment is going to be clutch if you have a lowered Mustang, because it's going
to allow you to properly center the rear axle underneath the car, which is otherwise not
really possible with a stock or non-adjustable panhard bar. If you have any more questions
or you're curious as to how this bar might help your own ride, get in touch with one
of our Mustang experts, you can give them a call at 1-855-422-7439 or shoot them an
email at support@AmericanMuscle.com, they'll be more than happy to school you on the benefits
of running this bar from SR Performance. Getting back to the heim joints I was talking about
earlier, these guys are used in place of those soft rubber factory bushings that can often
flex or distort under hard launches and cornering. These heim joints here are far stronger than
those soft rubber bushings, and they're going to keep that rear axle in check at all times.
As far as the install is concerned, it is pretty simple thanks to the fact that you're
really only removing two bolts. Keep in mind that you'll be doing all of the work under
the rear end of the car, so of course make sure you have your jack stands or ramp stand
in before getting started. Because it is pretty simple to get everything bolted up we're going
to call it about an hour from start to finish, but if it does take you a little longer to
make all those fine tuning adjustments, don't get discouraged, and as always if you have
any problems, give us a call. So if you want to make a small investment that will have
a noticeable improvement on your handling, and off the line performance, then going with
an adjustable panhard bar like this option from SR Performance would be an excellent
choice.
