>>KYLE DURRIE: So, Moveable Type is a traveling print shop that I launched this past year.
I’ve built a letterpress studio in the back of a 1982 Chevy Stepvan. I’ve been traveling
around the country teaching workshops and giving printing demos and just kind of getting
the word out about this old method of printing that’s kind of dying out right now.
>>KYLE DURRIE: It’s been a huge turnout today. I wasn’t expecting a crowd this size.
Everyone was really curious, patient and interested. It’s been a really good group of students.
>>KYLE DURRIE: It’s great. It’s really great. I’ve been enjoying almost every minute
of it.
>>KYLE DURRIE: I never really feel like I’m sleeping in my print truck even though I am
— and it’s a truck. And being on the road has been really eye opening in a lot of ways.
I’ve done a fair amount of road trips by myself, cross-country but in a comfortable
car and usually staying in motels or camping.
>>KYLE DURRIE: I’ve seen some that are a little bit smaller. But I don’t know, these
vary. You’ll see them on eBay occasionally up to $500 or so.
>>KYLE DURRIE: It’s a lot of new experiences all at once but I think it’s only going
to serve me well in the long run. It’s been a really amazing trip.
