Is that food you're eating safe?
Is life threatening weather coming your way?
What's the quickest way to find out?
What if you want to know about new threats to your health?
Or thousands of other topics the federal government keeps track of to help you stay safe and healthy.
The answer is USA.gov.
The newly re-designed website not only helps you find information from nearly 150 federal agencies,
it's got a brand new feature that lets you sign up for alerts.
We call it a dashboard of government notifications.
Here's how it works.
First, find the topic or search for a type of notification or alert on a subject that you're interested in.
Let's take a look at weather.
You can get a list of notifications that you can sign up to recieve.
You can click on each one and read it...
OR...you can click the boxes here and sign up to get e-mail notifications
or text messages sent right to your mobile phone.
This new Dashboard is another exciting way the General Services Administration
is working with agencies across government
to make sure citizens have the information they need at their fingertips.
