Hey guys, Dezz Asante here from the TechMuzeAcademy with a very quick mix tip for you today. I’m
just going right into it. Basically, what I want you to experiment with
is, as you get deeper into your mix and you’ve spent maybe an hour or two making some critical
listening decisions on your balances – is to turn your mix up in volume, louder than
you would actually sit and listen and leave the room. Head to a different room. If you’re
in the basement, go upstairs. Leave the doors open. You know, maybe head outside even and
maybe crank it up so you can hear it. I find that this helps me to detect any balancing
issues that I might have between my tracks – if the vocals are too loud, if the vocals
are not loud enough. This type of things become a little more apparent and obvious when you
crank it up and leave the room and have a listen from somewhere else.
Like I said, a very, very quick tip today and we’ll see you next time.
