Hi! Starting another I Could Kill For Dessert!
and on today’s show since it’s Easter
I am going to prepare an Easter Egg with chocolate laces and embroideries
and all that wonderful thing.
And because of that I won’t be making any drinks today, ok?
Shall we?
You guys fell for it, huh?
April Fool’s Day!
No, don’t even think about it!
I’m not going to prepare a chocolate Easter egg cause you can buy those anywhere!
I’m going to make a very cute marshmallow for you to give to your friends...
Is that flour you are dusting the marshmallow with?
... and I will make a very tasty hot chocolate!
Now, this is it! Let's do it?
First thing you will need is to put a little bit of water to boil
cause then we will make a water bath for the gelatine.
"Iced Water"
"Gelatine"
The other thing we need to do really fast is grease the tray.
I’m going to use here some vegetable fat,
cause then the tray needs to be ready for when we finish the marshmallow.
Then you’ll get half of the glucose, and you’ll put it inside the mixer bowl...
Why don’t you use a tool for this?
Because the easiest way to scoop glucose is by watering your hands,
cause if you take a spoon it’s going to stick to it and that won’t help much.
Then you’ll get a pan and put all the sugar.
Ah, remember that all ingredients are on the website, the complete recipe is on the website,
you just have to check below here and it’s all set for you to copy.
So let’s do it, the sugar, the water and the other half of the glucose.
The most important thing is that you don’t let anything stick to the border of the pan
cause it’ll burn and it will be ugly.
I will take this mixture to the stove and it’ll need to have a soft ball consistency, reaching 112C more or less.
“More or less 112C” is a little precise to be “more or less” right...
From 112C to 115C, it helps if you have a candy thermometer,
put it inside the syrup and it’ll show you 112C or 115C
If you don’t, it’s more or less from 6 to 8 minutes and it’s ready.
This is a thermometer for only those who wish to make a sugar soft ball.
“No! This is a candy thermometer!”
The water over there’s boiled,
now we just drain the gelatine, get a lot of water out and i’ll take it to melt on the stove.
“Don’t let the gelatine become too hot!”
The gelatine is ready, it’s melted, now I’m going to turn on the mixer on low speed and pour the gelatine in here.
"One cup of water"
"A few drops in the water"
"Soft ball, see?"
Now turn the speed a litte higher and we’ll drop the syrup here in a thing string.
"Vanilla Extract"
"Salt"
"Mix it for one more minute"
Marshmallow looks like something super pop and modern,
but actually it was consumed as candy during the times of the ancient Egypt, did you know that?
No...
Actually the marshmallow came from a plant called marshmallow that has a pink flower.
They used to use the roots of this plant, but today the flowers are used to prepare cough syrup for kids
because the real marshmallow is good for that. Did you know that?
No I didn’t... so that means if I eat mashmallow everyday my health should be ok?
No, not this one cause it’s made with gelatine! Now I just have to level it here.
Guys, so now you just let it sit for 6 hours outside of the fridge, you don’t need to put it in the fridge,
and then I’ll cut it, all very pretty, and we’ll put it on a very tasty hot chocolate.
So guys, 6 hours went by
and now we’ll try to unmold the marshmallow out of here
and cut it bunny shapped, cause it’s Easter!
Is that flour you are dusting the marshmallow with?
It’s powdered sugar!
“Lots of patience, fellows!”
Unfortunately the bunny didn’t work out, the ear won’t stay up, see?
It’s not pretty.
So now I’m going to cut it in little cubes
and then we can put it in a little plastic bag, with bunnies and all, it’s going to be just as pretty.
“Make a little flourish, get it?”
But what about the drink? There’s none today?
That’s right, I’m going to prepare a hot chocolate so we can put the marshmallow inside to melt.
For the hot chocolate it’s very simple: one cup of milk chocolate and one cup of milk.
I’ll bring it to the stove until it’s melted,
put it in a cup, whip some heavy cream, fresh heavy cream until it’s chantilly,
put it on top then we grab the marshmallows and top it with, so it can melt too.
And then add a little bit of cognac in the end, shall we?
"Nutmeg"
Put it a little bit more right, otherwise...
It’s ready! Do you want to try it, love?
Sure! Which one is mine, that one?
So guys, this was the show,
we prepared the marshmallows that are delicious, I already ate a bunch,
so did my husband, and everyone else here too!
The hot chocolate is also fabulous, if you want to add some cognac it’s also very good...
And that was it!
Make coments, leave your post over here, tell me what you liked, and Happy Easter everyone!
This was another I Could Kill For Dessert, and you?
