I basically want to tell you about how I discovered my mission in this life. I say
this life because I believe that that there are other lives before and after this one. People who share
this idea, I love it. Well, basically, who am I? That little girl over there, I once was. I want to tell you that
I was born in Paraguay in 1989 and I went to live with my family in Ayolas. I had a very nice
childhood. I was born in a family with a lot of values and I'm very grateful to life for that too.
They instilled in me an education that today I am grateful for. At that time it was like 7 00:00:57,540 --> 00:01:01,089 why me? why me? But today I am really grateful for it. I was always a bit
wilful and I always wanted something and I achieved it. My parent always pointed out how I always got my way...
What it's true is that I always had a lot of goals in life. And searching for my path
I had to knock on several doors. But at 18, almost 19, I wanted to go to Italy to live there
and my father told me 'no, you are too young to go to Italy.' 'But I want to go to Italy'
'No, you are not going to go'. And then I heard about a competition, which price was
to go to Italy to live there. You went to Italy for some reason. So I
took part in the competition and I went to Italy, without know what was next. Honestly, I was living
very in the moment, so I didn't know what was next. And it turned out that it was a very important
a competition and all that. That was good. So it was a very important competition and for 15 days I had a wonderful experience and I managed
to win the competition, which opened me a lot of doors, really a lot of
doors. But it really opened me towards the world that I was so eager to know,
to live. And I'm living there and, a part from the competition, apart from the duties
I had to fulfill that year, I started working as an actress in Italy. I worked in the
Italian television, I also worked in the movies and, well, it was really very nice. That's how
I discovered that I really liked acting, because in my family, since I was a kid, my mom
was an actress, it was a family of artists. For example, I played the organ since I was a kid, I always
felt a call to art. In Italy I discovered that I loved acting and then
I started working on that. Then I fulfilled what I had to do in Italy and I went to Los Angeles because
if the mecca of cinema is in LA, I'm going to LA. I went to LA and there
I got one of the most powerful lessons in my life. I had to deal with a manager that was bipolar and
who was insane. I hope she is not watching this right now, but it doesn't matter. But the truth is that I went through very dense
phase because that girl was bipolar and she started treating me really
badly, and my ego couldn't accept it, I was like how can she...? But I had to go through that. But the nicest part
of all this is that I had to live this in order to understand a lot of other things. And I came back to Paraguay
I felt kind of obliged to do so, to escape that situation, and I found the Paraguay
that I was maybe trying to leave behind. Because I was looking for my path outside and it's like
I came back and I was like wow, how many opportunities do I have in this country,
the country that witnessed my birth, my divine land. And this is exactly the picture that represents
a lot to my life because when I came back I got a lot of work opportunitites and
I decided to go to China to represent Paraguay as Miss World last year.
Another wonderful opportunity that life gave me: to take my country's name up high
When I see these colour that are around this room, I honestly
get goosebumps because I believe that for a reason and for a purpose we all were born
where we are born. And this also has a lot to do with the mission that I discovered
in my life a while ago. I read a book called The element because when I came back to Paraguay
it was like I liked everything, I like being an actress, I like being a model, I like
music, but, eventually, I don't know what I like, I didn't know what I liked.
A friend gave me the book The element by Ken Robinson and this is what the book
says: discovering your passion changes everything. And Julio also said when he was telling us
about his story, how one feels different when finds that thing that really inspires them
I feel that everyone that stood here to talk is passionate about what they do because
talking for 10 minutes about something or a topic in depth, and with such intensity, means it must
be something you are really passionate about. How did I discover my passion in this life?
This is exactly what I wanna tell you about: firstable I realized that I had to know
myself and that's why I did an introspection for a long time and that was also tied with finding ways to meditate
to find myself. I needed to know myself. I didn't come here to give you advice
at all. Simply, to tell you my story and experience, which maybe can help some of you.
It feels a bit like self-help this. But it's actually the why that I found myself.
Well, knowing myself, loving who I am, who I really am. Not who others want me to be.
When I was a kid, I was like a little boy.
That is, I was never femenine, tender and all that. I basically played futball with my friend Emma, and we always
said that we were two little kids. And as I grew I realized that I had to
be more like a woman, but I feel more comfortable with myself being the way
I am. I want to invite you that, apart from knowing yourselves, you love
who you really are. This already takes you one step closer to knowing what
you really want from life. Nature, my nature. When I connected with nature
which means that the year I turned vegeterian I also connnected with nature
and I realized that it's also my nature. Because there are times that we see nature
as a nice landscape, but we are actually part of that landscape, and we are no more and no less
than the other animal especies or whatever exists in this beautiful earht that
gives us. We are part of nature, it's also my nature. Open your eyes.
This part I came to realize seeing how we relate towards
what's happening in the world. In the world we say that everything is going to hell because
there are a lot of climate changes, the temperature is rising and there is
a lot of pollution But when I realized that more than 50% of that
pollution was caused by rising cattle and about everything involved...
The animal maltreatment that we carry out. And I don't want to defend any vegan position here at all.
I simply want to tell you about what opened my eyes. About that reality
that sometimes we don't want to see because we are used since we are born to eat
like we do, to do things the way we do them, to use what we use without noticing,
without asking ourselves what's this. Let's open a bit our eyes. This also goes
hand in hand with information. Get informed about what we do, get informed about
what we are about to bring to our mouths and what that does to us,
what that causes around us, what impact I have on my environment, in the environment where I live.
And this is also why I'm keeping up with nutrition and I like it a lot, because
I feel that we are what we eat, so I could be talking to you about nutrition for
10 more minutes. But I'm not going to talk about this today, tonight. Smiling to life.
I realize that smiling opens infinite doors and that everything is different when we
have a smile on our face and we wake up, even if we had a bad day yesterday
or we had nightmares or things like this. A smile, even if it's just physic, starts relaxing
our muscles. Apart from that, when you meet somebody, for example,
I met people somewhere with such a face and I went like
how are you doing? And they look at me with such a face. And I try to keep the smile
and I swear to God that the person softens. It's like we are connecting with
that person's essence and that's what I like about talking to people
and meeting them face to face and look at somebody's eyes, connecting
with their essence. I believe that smiling is the fastest way to somebody's essence.
Apart from being ourselves and all that we are talking about. Thinking positively
and not just thinking, but also talking positively. I don't know if some of you have heard about PNL.
What we talk about is a big deal of who we are. That is, it's no the same if I come
to tell you negative words like accident, catastrophe... the negative word, that if tell you
beauty, nature, positivism, joy. All these words bring sensations
inside of us that change our attitude, that change our relationships
with others. It's different, I promise. Try it out, it's an everyday exercise.
Trusting life. This is very important. We have to trust what
we are, what we want. When we ask something to the universe, and this
always happens to me: I ask something to the universe and I leave it in God's hands, or whatever you want to
call it, God, universe, I also call it pachamama, love, all the names that exist.
We leave it in the hands ot this divine energy and I swear to God that the universe listens to us,
that energy listens to us, we have to trust more. And above anything else, we have to be grateful.
Julio was just talking about being grateful for opening our eyes. This is so important
yet it goes unnoticed in a day-to-day basis.
Opening our eyes is a blessing, breathing is a blessing, feeling our heart
beating is a blessing, thanking people that we share life with everyday.
Life is about team work, and this came to my mind while I was listenting the other talks.
It's team work because even if I'm standing here, there are a lot of people
involved, just in today's talk, for example. Thanking life, being greateful. I want to tell you that
I write in a diary since I was a child and I keep on writing in a diary and I love it
because I can connecto with myself. I write and, every time, every day that passes, before
saying anything to my diary, to my dear diary, I write thanks God, universe, pachamama and
love, and I feel that I get connected with that energy. Basically being grateful, being grateful means
a lot and I want to thank you too for being here right now.
To the audience online, who are also going to be watching this, and to the whole GRAMO team that invited me
to be here. Today I live to remind you that we come with the purpose of loving what we are and being
what we love. Thanks a lot.
