Hey, check it out. ASUS has a hot little gaming notebook
for you here. It's the G50VMX1. And this is not necessarily the newest
ASUS gaming notebook on the market,
but it's going to be extremely capable.
And, you're gonna find that the price on it
is extraordinarily reasonable. It's got a Core 2 Duo processor on board.
That's the T5750, 2 GHz Core 2 Duo processor on board.
4 GB of DDR2 RAM. It's got a 200 GB, 7200 RPM hard drive on board.
One of the really nice features about this,
and one of the things that makes it a nice gaming notebook
is the fact that it has a GeForce 9700M GT on board
with 512 megs of dedicated RAM. So, it's got plenty of horsepower
to be able to run your games, really.
It's got a 15.6'' screen. 1366 x 768 is the max resolution
for this 15'' screen. It has built in wireless N, and of course it has
the webcam and microphone built in to the bezel up here.
Down here, below the screen, you're going to notice that
we have an LCD status panel, right here, which will give you all kinds
of different status information for your computer.
Right now it's telling us battery life.
But you can set that up to show all kinds of different info.
Over here you've got a number of capacitive touch buttons
that are going to allow you to very quickly get to various features
and profiles on the computer.
You got a full-sized keyboard with a numeric touch pad.
And down here is where you're going to find your track pad and mouse buttons.
It's a really nice design. It's got this burnt orange color on it.
And a nice textured palm rest on here, as well.
And then down here you're going to find more of your status lights
for your Wi-Fi status and power status, all there along the front of the notebook.
Also over here is where you're going to find an infrared receiver
and your wireless switch located right here.
Over on the side is where you're going to find all kinds of really great connectivity.
We got a VGA port, right here. We got USB.
We have the ability to hook up an external Wi-Fi antenna,
if you so desire, which is actually a really nice feature.
So, if you're in an area that has, sort of, lower Wi-Fi signal strength,
you can plug in the included antenna. It does come with it.
And you're ready to go. You got Firewire there.
You got an eSATA/USB combo port, right here.
HDMI is on board. You got a wireless, or a multi-card reader, right here.
There's nothing wireless about this. It's really just a multi-card reader
for SD, XD, MMC, all of those. And then up here you have your
Express 54 slot, for any of your ExpressCards you'd like to add
to the PC as well. Now, that's just one side.
And one side of connectivity. We're already beating most notebooks
with this thing. Over here you're gonna find a couple more USB ports.
You got your line-out, your microphone and your headphones, all right here.
And your LightScribe DVDRW drive right here.
Of course, that means that you can burn your labels directly on to those
LightScribe capable disks. And on the back here
is where you're going to find your Kensington Lock over here.
Batteries all right here. You got another USB port,
your gigabit Ethernet and modem ports right there.
And your DC power port, right there.
You're going to find, also, at the bottom,
it does have a sound port at the bottom to enhance the sound
in all of your games..
It is a really good sounding notebook, actually.
And take a look at this. If you want to see what the
Vista Score, on this particular notebook is, it's a 4.5 there.
And really you can see that the only thing really holding this thing up
is the memory, which can be easily upgraded and changed out.
But even then, really good scores for a notebook like this,
especially a notebook that's in this price range, actually.
And now I want to show you one more thing.
Because one of the cool features about this notebook is the fact
that it does have the Express Gate software on board.
And what that means is you can go from the computer
being powered
completely off to an instant on operating system.
Now this is really, really cool. Let me show you this.
I got it all powered off now. When the system's powered off,
you see that one light remains on. Now this is an off computer.
See this light right here? This is the instant on, OS button.
If you just push this button, right here, you'll find that on the screen pops
an instant on operating system, which is going to allow you to
immediately get to, without any booting, get to
the web, get to all of your music, get to some online games,
photos, chats, Skype, all of that stuff,
instantaneously without having to boot into Windows.
So it's always ready to go, even from a powered off state,
which is really, really cool. And the Express Gate software
works really, really well. So, this is a very unique notebook.
It's very, very cool. And it's going to allow you to take
all your games and movies, and all that stuff with you.
And you're going to be able to access all of your multi-media and the web.
And anything on the internet really, instantly,
from that instant on, OS. So, if it looks interesting to you,
it is the ASUS G50 VMX1 model, go have at it.
