I'm Ross Hepplewhite and I am a lab technician here at Ingenza. I am a lab technician which
deals with the washing up of dishes, the restocking of equipment, cleaning the equipment, restocking
all of the agars or plates that the biologists will use. I also make up some of the standards
for some of the HPLC analysis. Just now I am currently running my own project
set by the head of chemistry here. I had just started 6th year and there were
flyers that came through from Ingenza advertising the position of two modern apprentices so
the teacher recommended me to the company, I then forwarded my CV and a letter because
I wasn't enjoying school that much in 6th year. Two weeks later I spoke to the head
of chemistry in the company here saying they were offering me the position and I jumped
at the chance to take it. The advice I would give would probably be
go for something you enjoy, if you enjoy it stick with it, try hard at it, get yourself
out there and hand out your CVs to an industry you'll enjoy.
