Hi, I'm Don McRae, Minister of Social Development and Social Innovation.
Congratulations to the Community Social Services Employers' Association
for 20 years of serving employers in B.C.'s social services sector.
I would also like to extend my greetings to all of you at the 20th annual
AGM and Fall Conference in Nanaimo. I recognize and appreciate the tremendous
work being done around the province
every day through agencies across the social services sector. This is a
large and diverse sector that provides a range of services
to thousands of British Columbians. You deliver vital social
health and educational services and help to provide a quality of life
for those who rely on them. Your employers and staff are known for their
dedication passion and commitment to service.
Since becoming Minister I've had the opportunity to meet with some of the
individuals who are delivering front-line services
and see first-hand how you make a difference in all our communities.
I understand the social services sector faces many challenges
and I look forward to finding ways to ensure that service continues to be a
priority
for all of us. This is a sector with a legacy of innovation
and our government will continue to work with the sector to look for innovative
ways
to provide support and assistance to British Columbians. Congratulations again on
20 years of great service.
Thank you.
