“Takes my Breath Away” © 2018 Corley Edwards
Raindrops falling on a tin roof take me down a sentimental journey, back to all of my favourite things.
Like, rainbows, hanging above a twilight blue sky
These things can move me to tears and I don’t know why.
Takes my breath away, takes my breath away.
Although we grow and change,
Your touch remains the same, still takes my breath away.
Snuggling in sheets dried in sunshine,
Echoes of loons in the mist,
We could stay in bed all day.
Then swim into the sunset,
Eat blueberry pie
These things can move me to tears and I don’t know why.
(saxaphone music)
Although we grow and change,
Your touch remains the same, still takes my breath away.
The first snow,
the first kiss
and baby’s first cry;
That sorrow fades is such a gift and joys get amplified.
Takes my breath away, takes my breath away.
Although we grow and change,
Your touch remains the same, still takes my breath away.
