Hello, Yo Wassup,
Hi name is DJ kentaro from nippono jpan
business
hip pop culture you know was brought to Israel was important and it obviously went up from there
it's still i would say
even as a as much as been there for a while it still is in its infancy there
are incredibly talented uh... people there
but it's a very small markets so it was mostly impossible to survive. I was fortunate
enough to be one of the few that really made it big, that really made an impact and
and you know pioneered the whole hip hop movement. in the middle east itself
you can tell that hip-hop is growing and growing growing.
I've done a lot of collaborations with uh... turkish artists
In the past few years, you know the sour relations between israel and turkey the music you know is bridging like we're
communicating with the young you know like with the younger like
hip-hop crowd and they're like they're getting to see a different side of
what israelian is about
is about the not what they see on the news from their press
and the same from my side you know to get to see to get to talk
you know people that love hip-hop just like me so it's
it's a wonderful to tool to you know like bridge gaps in like reach new
markets
the indie scene for hip-hop music up there is a lot more independent is not a whole
lot of external influence of pressure from whatever labels that kind of thing that you
might get down here. it's everybody kind of doing their own style on their own thing up
there and that's just across the entire country it's just refreshing
really for us like we're just making music that we really want to make
and music that we're listening to kind of like
a blend of
electronic mixed with some like feel good hip hop
and stuff like just stuff that we listen to and that we want to put out
reggae music is a genre that can show the tradition of ethnic groups
therefore, we belive that we can express korean tradition through out music
since we are playing reggae music in Korea, the fusion of Korean traditional music and reggae music is the process that we are going through
we stronlgy believe that you will see how the reggae music is mixed with our culture in Korea through Windy City of "Bibim production:"
most of all, we want to disseminate our indigenous Korean culture to americans
5 years ago there might not be any taiwanese bands that play at southby southwest. but these 5 years there are many
more and more taiwanese bands, they are coming to SXSW and perform in SXSW
I think we bring some music from taiwan and that everybody
know what taiwanese music sounds like
working on an album what I want to release later on in the year called
hypocrite it's an album of mine like none of mine in the past, it is the most mature album
of mine i think given that i just got married fatherhood and i would think i'll
undeniable element in terms of where I drew inspiration for the project my faith
you know these last two years have been an incredible journey and in terms of just
growing with god
uh... walker with christ and when i say walking with christ
I take it more than just as a figure of speech you know I'm talking about literally even as i walk
down this street you know i literally feel like i'm walking christ in many
ways meaning like
absorbing everything trying to look at it from not just my own perspective
that perspective
I'm glad to come here as a japanese and represent the culture
contrast my second album is released from ninja tune
it is now also distributed in the US so I would like you to listen to it
because it features mixing with featuring aritsts and japanese styles
i think I cang et someone to listen to my music
so please listen
