Once, I went with my father on this audition. I had to wait out in the green room. There
was this beat up old piano in the corner and I just started banging away. This woman who'd
been in one of the other rooms, she heard me and came in. She went on and on about how
talented I was and she never noticed. She never noticed. My dad once told me "In life
there are no auditions. You must always play with purpose. Don't allow the limitations
within others to change how you play life." And so I play both piano and life as if it
were my grand performance.
