yesterday with the mission continues
ta joint asset we've got your 6 that sends a two thousand today
have a sadness aventis
events and that is not in any way do you speak any allies today so i'm doing
great i'm really excited this fantastic energy out here we've got hundreds of
people working through the mission continues in geiger six i'm really
pleased
and fantastic that definitely an energy and
any style just enhanced req
is the mission continues
jer so that the mission continues is a national nonprofit organization our
mission
is to make sure that we challenge every returning veterans did come back home
and find a way to continue to serve and inspiring communities across america
fantastic
and that what is the role of the mission continues and today's events so into
daisy that what we've done is we brought our mission continues fellows
these are post nine eleven veterans were continuing their service in their
communities eight come here to be art team leaders at this event so what you
have is veterans who are leading teams right here are letting everybody see
what they can bring back to the community
a fantastic without having all these veterans hair and being able to act
sadly with them and follow them
sadly vaccination pineapple going oh six what is the gulf sat for this affect on
the hall
so what's so important about our partnership with guy your sixties it we
want the whole country
to begin to see veterans isn't
we want to see them as leaders
who are going to come back and revitalize in re-energize communities
all across the country we're so proud to be partnered with chris margaret in with
got your six because we know that together we can get this story out to
the country we can help everyone to see what these veterans are capable of
and it is a conversation that needs to be reignited absolutely has to be
reignited because what happens laura is it's so many
people when they think about that tuesday night think about those dramatic
stress disorder dramatic brain injury
all of these problems the mission continues in got your six were part of
the solution
and when people hear that when we engage in that conversation we show them
there's a way to meet these challenges and have a successful reintegration for
the whole generation people really get energized
okay and we are live and that we have a veterans
watching in viewing if you have any questions we would love for you to ask
uh...
you can do so on into kasa as we watch this live events
and loaded them very interesting things and what do you all major benefits but
these partnerships here in hollywood
what's really important for us about the partnerships in hollywood as it were
here
with some of the best storytellers annul planet
and we need their help to get the stories of our patrons out into the
communities your right out here you've got tony hard
united states marine corps veteran sir for ten years
deployments to iraq came back home and three mission continues fellowship
is working as a wal-mart whatev boys and girls club here in los angeles
that's a story that when the country here's a think while this is a
generation they can continue to serve and through this partnership with the
entertainment industry we get stories like tonys out into the world
that is fantastic
and what is next for the mission continues
so for the mission continues we're gonna need back in los angeles for our next
orientation january twenty fifth two twenty seven
we're starting seventy five new mission continues fells will calm the l_a_ and
then they'll turn around and all deployed to communities across america
to bring your service and their leadership aback back to the country
and again that dates
every january twenty-fifth the twenty seventh
everybody's invited to come out and you also recommended people go out to
mission continues dot org
he's got a mission continues dot org you can find ways to do on a
to volunteer to spread the message it's all available uh... for then we're
really proud of our of our partnership with geiger six
what bank you so much and again this is an express in sweden mission continues
and you can do that vanishing continues on mission continues dot elad
thank you so very much told the story great to be with you and everybody is
watching today
and do you think you've got brandon routh
antsy and he is
hi brandon i a m well thank you
and then let's make that has a day
and i'd like to just asked what your main it guy was here today for this
event for that
well my main goal is that is raise awareness and i think that's uh... you
know thankfully uh... with uh...
you know success over here for uh... reason when it's about uh... better and
be a better programs and and uh...
all the great
initiatives and non-profits that are out there um... helping
uh... allow our veterans to become civic leaders and and and assets or
communities
that's fantastic
and what do you think
uh... is the biggest gap between civilians in america today and veterans
i think just understanding the magnitude of uh...
the veterans go through you know it's not all night if not only just warfare
but being away for a family being in a foreign country
um... not having your own
uh... i would imagine personal space you know um... so those are all challenging
things to to get used to not to mention gunfire in and
and uh... the danger
that exists
right and do you have any past no loved ones that have that strength
that you are supporting this weekend i wore my father in was a vietnam vet
uh... and my my grandfather's uh...
and uncles uh... several cause he served in vietnam and and and uh... my
grandfather's and what what you've so uh... molly's one on a diamond and thank
them for their for their service
great added
also what goes on
you know but c_s_x_ brings together out barry's any disease and and talent like
yourself and
and local of the veteran civilians together for one mission what does that
power
mean to you
that collaboration
eternity night underwent voice it and it just makes in even stronger you know
um... it's good to see that everyone cares and i think it's
it's good for us in hollywood too
uh... continue always reword is just to give back you know we have a think with
people who months aboard our our films are projects in this is a way for us to
to give back
but also for you know the rest of the country to know that that uh... these
are important issues and and that we can't uh... forget
these brave men and women
uh... and that they want to go to work in one of the assets in our
uh...
towns and communities and we need to you know due again to help them companies
are great leaders uh...
and uh... they lead there that began the here as well
after showing it
you know we thank you so much for your supply and what can we not
to support you and in the next
several month
i have uh... show curly on c_b_s_ rate on monday nights at eight thirty a
partners
uh... too that uh...
to comedy so hopefully will make you laugh in uh...
give you a ql accession from your you're busy work day
well i know i could use that in fact
thank you very much for joining us we really appreciate n happy veterans day
thank you very much
high crest about how are you doing to that greg how are you
and doing really well thank you so much
that's quite alright will wear sunglasses have yankee needs chat with
us today your involvement in this evisa banned and your affiliation
this is actually my introduction to got your six and the mission continues
uh... yet you know it gave a speech at the beginning of this that was uh...
incredibly impressive
and i love what they're doing with that continue we deal with that's on my show
i play disabled vet on covert affairs and and uh... in fact we have an episode
coming
tuesday night where i'm we're dealing with another foundation the posters
called troops first where they take
wounded warriors back to where they were injured
uh...
what this organization does
uh... is another fantastic way to help legends when i get back
uh... by giving them
ways to continue their service
uh... it's incredibly selfless and so necessary and important and uh... really
extraordinary some probit was able to come
that's fantastic anything of that time playing and then send
um... ages i think of the company
it is it's my first time in my dad's of that uh... he was in the navy in vietnam
and um... so it's something that's close to my hard i have extended family
members who are serving allen who have served and um...
uh... muta play new and not just a bit but disabled that you know my character
was blinded while serving in
and to show how these guys when really it's the mission of this organization is
to show how
matches useful but vital
um... these people are too in the country in the communities
that's really great and it's great to have that has no connection as well
and to have the honest the plane that that route i'm sure and how will you be
celebrating that ends day the rest of the weekend all i'm gonna be home with
my family we just we finished shooting through the season so um... uh... it's
one of the few weekends of the year were actually no i don't have to go anywhere
so
and we're gonna be home in spending it
that's really great
and again that you that episode as other episode airs this tuesday night at uh...
ten nine central on u_s_a_ network
anti-static bags ten nine central and then saying that left him we really
thank you for doing it today
and it please enjoy the rest of the sevis event
i wouldn't have said i have a question for our viewers live from into past
so that's going to come in here say im
we've got to ask you know what's your experience racking the veterans unset
uh... actually we had uh... to that's in one of the organizers of troops first
uh... come up to set for the days that we were shooting
uh... this episode airs on tuesday
uh... all deed goes back to a rack and uh... we're recreating essentially what
operation proper exit is
uh... so we had uh... began to create a program we had uh... sergeant major the
iraq uh... in kuwait with swiss wit us
and then uh... corporal shouters who was blinded in iraq much like my character
who uh...
came up and and was with us while we're shooting so um... so we're really close
uh... we we work together with an very closely
so we live experience that fantastic
and about that last question for the moment from into past banking welfare
rights and to use them for us to keep those questions coming
thank you again so much to take care
thank you very much
nomads speech you how are you
uh... instead
notes for instance that that
invade and hammer that
thank you for having me i'm going to be here
yes and i i would like for you to just and divest their
an overview and that your involvement would gaya six what it meant i six means
today and for you
being here this event
posters that you just got your six through
uh... television show stars and stripes
chris leverage or partner with veterans in learning how to essentially become
a as soldiers so to speak
guy you're sick spoke to me because it's in my industry now hollywood being one
of the train is on the biggest loser
gotcha six essentially means got your back
uh... which is a military term
hollywood is now saying to military veterans in the people that are listed
guess what we have your backs when they come back to the states
when you come back home
uh... your setup with education your setup
uh... through programs in job so it's a great way to say thank you for your
service
thank you hand and we welcome to come to know that end i have sex is great
and wilbur also had really enjoyed sad and science
and i'm not this ad
that shadow by u_n_ both with that and for example the sevis event is that
something that you
and is adulthood in your arm
aim fire and then spread veterans
well um...
with my job uh... on biggest loser i always try to give back and get back to
community uh...
all the time uh... worker released them in the show now and you know it
it such as me every single day where have to assist someone to believe in
themselves
veterans across the country and
uh... current people that are listed they give themselves every single day
sort inspires me
in many ways to get back in the today
but it's wonderful that you were inspires a as an inspiring us elvin and
as an inspiration yourself and
weekend that's fantastic
and um...
let's see do you have um...
what what today is the best way that you think americans
across the nation can take action and really bridge the military civilian gap
any ideas then
i think there's a several things that we could do
we can offer jobs too
veterans as they come home
weekend uh... you know set set people up for education i think just on a
government even the federal level inshore
uh... would you do come home you come home to security
you know it nothing says thank you more in security
and so to give veterans and to give uh... and listed
many women across the country who are given their lives every single day
to come home to a secure environment that's the best thing that we can do it
andrey that's that's true and them
you know we've got less expanding to get that celebrity
easy agency
an executive that ends in i'm civilians
what does that have been feeling
on the home i think that's a huge power i mean the power of the celebrity in
this country is amazing and i think he brings eyeballs too
uh... something that unfortunate has been overlooked you know it's not talked
about here and number
sport thousand people four thousand our soldiers passed away but they'll have a
main so i think was something like this these individuals now have an identity
because now the eyeballs are there so scott this is about that and that
specifically
heightens the really proud to be a pad
not just the hollywood community back the action and pal and involvement that
it has on the better in community it's really great
absolutely among glad to be a part of this book
well thank you so much back and then then taken to be saying
and um...
we uh... looking for interested this evisa bentley is that i'm keeping coming
together
we have one more question actually coming into my life
let's see here
fan
we have liberia's sending in questions and one of them was
how was your experience on sundance types stars and stripes
vice versa stars and stripes was amazing i mean for me too
for the for some of my life i your live in munich condition and learn from
uh... many women who are in the circling in service to
teach me first-hand what it was like to beat them
it was challenging
it was um... it was scary in a lot of ways but i love a challenge that just
makes me that much sharper
more importantly gave me an idea of the intense level that it takes just to be a
soldier so my my applause goes to the men and women across the country and i'm
glad i had it
a small opportunity to learn what it's like to be done
and then enough question is do you have a connection to any better and
specifically
i do there's a lot of people in my family that are currently in the army
and one in the marine specifically see it is a very hot personal connection
there
angus and i meant dot and the navy and so that is definitely something that
keeps you
you know it constantly is in your mind
tense has claimed that
we can jam and giving back and again thank you go back to being a we thank
you so much
how could center of the message in some of those days i have you here
howell and we'd love to hear from you know i need your involvement what is
your well with the mission continues
actually i am a follow up on nights like this type of ship last year
fantastic and and
what's today a disney said this event
means here
and actually it's fantastic i'm so excited its own people came today to
come help and these kids out was building these backpacks
mean really means a lot to have civilians common work with parents at my
side
and to serve and i a lot of people think that just saying thank you uh... to
patterns is and not forgotten say but what we really wanted to be able to
serve next tasks
that's great and what made you and decide to pursue this opportunity would
the mission continues
uh... live on and cd back to you the community and continual away cheese
served time in the community
and i work with freshen hope
for six-month
six months of manpower sent
and as a fantastic abandoned its great actually connect with other veterans are
doing concerts as well and meet them and they they weren't in the service while
he said finishing new
refreshing houghton tell us a little bit about that afresh in hope is a
non-profit in orange county california and what day do you is fresh home to
people in crisis
so lamp for example a warrior kits at a hospital comeback match against them
that this past few months the hospital last name really care about is fresh in
their home
so what we do is is said to the house oppression home for them to this is a
great unwilling to tear home afraid of really move and and and braxton daycare
themselves
that session
monumental death demean that really is i can imagine something more comforting
than coming home to an actual
acts it's great yes
and lastly had to say that
and ask is this partnership with the creative community a new thing for the
mission continues with the entertainment industry
uh... it's not to you
new older nanti yang they've been working on with
got to cut your sex and to make some phone lines
and so i was actually there and i'm now an employee of warrior gateway and the
marketing director border gateway
and we're also attire sex partner
so i'm a mission meson tier and wardingly mom's employees so working
with the creative
aspects of it is fantastic because it's a actually really increasing our reach
to you impact
unites states understand how big of a g_o_p_ is of nations are going to have
the patterns right now
and employ about why i didn't make any given some background their tara at
warrior gateway provides that which he need for the most likely be including
veterans
to get on for a website warrior gateway dot org
but in their zipcode
and put in counseling or whatever they need to search for which expire
and also have the other finalists have restored is available to them in a local
communities of connecting better nz to this is available to the local community
as i was like
uh... i really
i'm aiming to reduce elias says worry again to wave dot boq
okay so i hope that some of you watching will be able to check that out when i a
gateway dot org
and we thank you so much for being here
and alas there attended events and the sevis event
it was his energies incredible out there and it's been really awesome today just
i've disor well in some time to tennessee support they were getting so
thank you
thank you a link that to be n
you've got a new congrats is live in a guess isn't it
outlet yesterday and i'm just a minute they'll vote out there now you know
brando's company runs this in error uses akele are all a great ones are behind
the camera there so if you're lucky enough to watch this you can think
brand-new or
anything brand new for all of their support of dot here sixty now
in turkey s is a great day and you know that uh... gets all the word out there
so
thanks to brandon for supporting dot here six
well thank you see we really appreciate that way happy to be handled casting
this live event in the end to cast
and let me just ask you some questions that
what doesn't guardia six mean t
you both at the same time as a campaign and well actually ah... we still have
the national khalidi of the nbc universal veterans network
and uh... geiger six came out of you know we're working with joining forces
uh... with the first lady's office on that campaign
and uh... we use the you know have meetings in the back of the commissary
and we call it the uh... hollywood military forum
where we invited in the other studios and guilt and so on and then we re
branded as got your six m brought in mission continues and everybody else who
is you know now
really driving on time
a new manage a ministry is there you know pushing it ahead as much as we can
suffer me personally
having started out with the hollywood military
foram and our veterans network analysis of geyer six is a huge passion of mine
that you know work on all the time
so you add that to the back of the u_s_ senate you know the bond mistakes can
now styles and i noticed your six ten
yes my six p_m_ if you don't have a six b in athens injected world
definitely uh... you know go onto the website that skye six that's four yes
and that uh... money goes directly to uh... all the partner organizations are
non-profits in order to help them meet their commitments and their goals so
that you can see on the other guy you're six dot org website all those
commitments there
yes thank you and i think also there are six then you have your best friends net
lekin
the nbc universal veterans network uh... it's a great organization the rest of
studios are
following along with that and uh...
you know we try to do everything we can to uh... to push for the professional
and personal development of our veteran employees we have a lot of better than
police in the company and its universal
uh... brian roberts the chairman of comcast uh... he met who owns nbc
universal now
uh... he made a comment the higher thousand veterans over the next three
years into the company so if you're a vent out there please that go to nbcuni
careers dot com or to the comcast side because uh... we definitely want you in
the company
thank you so much we really appreciate that me sierra castro places
and i'm sure do you think anthony hunter from the mission continues
hi anthony how we use today at how you doing
doing that it was so glad to have you here and then you know act test
what the mission continues means four-year other discontinue means a lot
because i once i got the service i didn't know exactly what i wanted to do
in need providing that the six-man fellowship that i'm doing it that was a
guest of existence and directions so replace it with their doing
while in what is it that you are doing and pleasing douse plan work with the
director their own bona program that promotes healthy living in physical
fitness so
amounts and huge then write physical fitness
uh... what about gotta fix what is going to six mean pean guy six uh... needs a
lot i mean it's it's it's just what it is they have your back
it's always nice to know that uh... someone has a backspace at the military
because you lose that roderick
indian unique great organizations i got to six in the midst e_t_'s and you get
back from robbery back so
larry from originally risen from gainesville florida
okay so how do you feel about
being here in hollywood and collaborating with not just these adn
organizations but these agencies and that that celebrity talent dot by ngos
that something that's unusual all yes it is i come from a small town but uh...
paid it's great to meet some of these uh...
the acting is here but the grating about all the more all of them are on counters
and uh...
discrete people so applied to be here
well when i wanted to have you known as anyone you'd like to stop to some of
your felon
events and bands that might be watching live arcgis hi mom yeah as this was a
day although
in the city is fellows and doctors six thanks for having me
may well lead time to you
and appreciate you may enjoy the rest of the seven th event today
hi cathy i might sue me anthony yahoo working on right now
we and i
for life
and i feel i union jack that set
for you to tell us and ideas out your involvement in today and today's event
and your affiliation
well i'm actually at the present at co-president of sag aftra and in los
angeles and sag after is a great supporter have that that veterans in the
efforts
therapy made across the country actually to go and that their presence be known
in our country you know
somme said this earlier i thought it was amazing they said you could live in the
end of the free because of the brave
and so uh... in our industry
we're really trying to along with uh... michelle obama to bring awareness add at
veterans and their families and to show our support
so and this is one of the ways that we can get and got your sixes
pretty awesome
got your back man i think that's really and i think it's about time
for all of the
and enter into and
defend us and fight for our rights
we need to have their back as well and so this is an really incredible program
because it's bringing them
letting them have avoids letting them say you know here we are and we are
more than just veterans we are the people who go and help to make your our
country great any of these young kids five thousand
homeless kids in los angeles are gonna be fed today because of this program
janet's you know along with that's in all the people here in the industry to
make that happen that's amazing
i love that i love you enthusiasm of the best and not just the seventh and then
but the whole cause on the hull
and do you have any
a pass no messing connections
idea actually last night i was having dinner at
at my house my ad has been in his at mother came and spent alot of that
he said he's a cool there add jamming and he had been in the marines in a city
like out your sixes he set yet it's got your back and he said yeah recently the
doings of that smile he said
on my god that's wonderful and
you not how do you realize this but
one out of ten
americans isn't it
and what i do know is that
every american know somebody's that
everybody knows somebody who's done service to this country
and um...
how now i think that
for me it's so great i think the
you know there's a lot of things we know is individuals but when we take pas to
really think about it
that's an amazing thing and to think that you know these are the people who
make it possible for us to be here to live the lives we live
and that we owe it to them and to ourselves
let them know that we recognize them
and they are important and he would not
you we are where we are without them
that's so true and
i think it must be so fulfilling for the whole entertainment community to be
involved in such an opportunity
what do you think back
collaborative powell and means between investments death
the agency's the thailand's and the executive all involved in m_s_ affect
like the it's really great meat
clearly just person-to-person
making a difference 'cause everybody you know
every ordinary persons extraordinary extraordinary
weekends extraordinary by doing what they do i do think that yet that
as bringing industry it just last to be more public
you know i'd think they're people every day who were
clearly making a difference in cripple impact in our society hackney's
batteries redoing it that you know date sometimes need their voices to be heard
in the industry
we have the ability to elevate that
into the public eye because of our media anyway you're doing
i mean this is
clearly
something that helps to elevate the work that's being done simply by you
doing this broadcast and how amazing is that so i think that
the marriage of
and the vets with our industry
is important and i hope that is just
expense
expeditiously helps too
at bring awareness
andrea the beautiful marriage and we have time for feelin
huge tremendous involvements and that we so appreciate today thank you that you
know you are all sound so sweet beautiful thank you
thank you pat
six had done ha
lead we live
yes we had laugh
live from the live from the couch
live from the back sent via
yes
i think you guys are being it's a day we'd love to hear from you know what you
have
affiliation is within seven seven uh... eagle i've heard about access to the
directors guild d_g_a_
uh... and
also through the eyes it bad robot like aging uh... they were helping organize
this event
as one of those no-brainer type of things you know you if you're available
you come down to help out he helped write engine to it
these are your were drawing attention to
the people who've served us and now it's time for us to serve them a little bit
yeah centered on what would you did they couldn't go on a friday if you want to
hear the seventh about right now always very good for me 'cause i cancelled
uh... with at the gym house near the gym so it was nice ags has explained to
everybody that there was something more important than
and and physical education the physical fitness
so i came here packed bags of food
and i ran into a lot of old friends is great to see in the people involved with
us and i think it it's also good to draw attention to
the you know you have this are workforce with hundreds of thousands from
returning from service
and uh... i think not just for hollywood for all around the nation that people
too
go either way to help accommodate absorbing them they're an asset i've
worked with uh... you know ex-military uh... in my line of work on the set
and uh... i have been only wonderful experiences and you know aside from the
fed the fact that there is i think a
uh... moral and ethical obligation to to do what you can
uh... but it's also a also actually is is uh... in the best interest of the
employers because they just uh...
people who are highly-trained and efficient effective and
there's a there's a code
of honor
i think uh... you know is civilian society could benefit from as well
i couldn't agree more
and uh...
uh... are there any personal connections are best friends that you can took about
today hot not not from uh... not from the most recent
uh... theaters but uh... my dad you know it's a
uh... ex-marine locals ex-marine my
grandfathers have better and so
you know i guess i have a lot of appreciation for the military
you know thankfully with this all-volunteer
uh... force that we have
nowadays it's uh...
you know i think there's an extra debt of gratitude that we owe to the military
because they've chosen
they chose to serve
uh... and and a lot of people you know
were
do a lot of people who are reservists who were called by their lives to do
sister serve and so um... now if things are winding down overseas
uh... you know we need size arts you know it's our turn to make them feel
appreciated and and and make sure they get often
reintegrate back into society
uh... as as my as my grandfather's able to do coming back from world war two
okay
you know i think we can learn a lot to my generation
and it's time to get them back involved and and benefit from the experiences
that they've
that they've had in the skill set that they've that they've acquired all along
the way absolutely and that is totally on governments again we thank you so
much the environment great taken
jose from the mission continues it's great to see eighty eight today
thank you for being you can you give s add background on your involvement with
the mission continues
uh... well
actually i'm involved with the couple the organization's mission continues
uh...
shut your six idea
i did the voice over for scope of the p_s_a_s for dr six
uh...
and the reason i'm here is the heard earlier i'm sure many many times it's
just about service and that's what
they were saying earlier
it's about the veterans who have gone over
and putting on the line
they've served
and the combat want to do that
because serving itself
heels
people you're helping in heals itself
uh...
so that's why not here
that's great and we totally
can feel the energy that's out there with the collaboration guideline what do
you think about the collaboration between the industry and the
organizations and and everybody in bosnia today it's good i think this is
actually just
the beginning of it
uh... it's still very new in the
this is a good starting off point and i think the industry is uh...
is really uh...
at a point where it wants to accept veterans and and and help
so uh... it's great to see
and since you've been out in the midst of things that can use that librarians
what's going on behind those does what are we
working on it as sevis event specifically well it's a giant uh...
human conveyor belt where were
all marching down with bags in our hand some of them two or three independent
were filling them with groceries as we go
uh... all different types of items and we're going to drop them off of to
various schools around l_a_
uh... to five thousand kids who uh... might not otherwise
have food tonight
war for the week
uh... and they're going to have the backpack to carry with him to school so
it's it's uh... they're saying earlier it's the service heels
the people doing it and the people that you're serving
antennae agree and
here is your most inspiring antigone metal spend time with this morning
apparent crafts
uh... she's someone who them
if you talk to
people out there they all know ur because she always has her hands
uh... in one or more all of the organizations for she's a vet
uh... and she works very hard to uh...
uh... with the nexus between uh... the civilians in the vets coming home
thank you and any adp south house about things that you had to give a brief
i have a lot of friends who are
currently active or or uh... have served and i'm not gonna mention any them
because i will forget summoned that'll come back to haunt me some
piece all you out there
thinking about you
thank you so much
so it's a benz joining us now
you can hear
i lower our how here
it's so great to me
here and that we
i really enjoyed we had to say any i can you tell us
and tell the liability ins what's the sevis event means to you today answered
a republican tribunal
well
hai
uh...
uh... the service that today which is uh...
it's kind of amazing how well it's uh... it's turned out and is working out
it's basically uh...
people hollywood representing studios and networks agencies and gilles
coming together work uh... shoulder shoulder with uh...
with veterans
pack five thousand backpacks full of healthy food to deliver to kids in the
l_a_ unified school district
and uh... blitzkrieg that is being run by uh...
got your sex and the dispute in his and easy to amazing veterans uh...
non-profit groups that are working too
see that arose the way they should be seeing which is as civic leaders in
assets
uh... and as we're doing today helping the community about helping kids who are
what is known as uh... flew secure they might have for this weekend if not for
these backpacks of well have a help to work together
thank you so much matter
that that that has been a founding time and i just said
and and the campaign since the beginning so uh... why has it been thatcher
priority for you and your team when we were welcome were
doing international tour for star trek we went to kuwait
and we showed a star trek to troops uh... in quayle was amazing thing
because be there and see first hand
uh... who these people or who are
you know away for the families within their homes and dedicate their lives to
uh...
preserving our way of life here at home
and so we start working with without arms and for that robot oppression
company we
did things like uh...
the christmas gifts that we put together at the company
we send out
a lot of them
uh... for each one that we would send out uh... we we would personal assemble
them with veterans and then treat when we sent out we would send one to
military family
uh... as well so that was cool and then we met a recurrence
uh... confederation continues and that really was an inspiration for us
okay and uh... wanted to disband the fact that the read-back pat packages
that are being made today that that idea came from
you know group cracks
and um... watch is it that made you decide to do that kind of at loco sevis
project
well the idea is to uh... again working with better answers to look to them as
people who could help the community is not as people who need help from u
handouts
what a great things at least continues is the organization has a slogan that is
uh... it's not a charity to challenge
and the fact is that most these veterans of people who
chose to serve
uh... feel like that is
they're calling a part of the calling and when they return from military
service
wanna find another way to keep
and these people have been trained and have life experience as uh... as leaders
and so at the great thing about the the backpacks is working with veterans
you know is segment of the community they are in number of them obviously
that needs help and that's kids in the loop might otherwise go hungry this
weekend
so to and
i think that's put him as a stunning time this is that is
happening
locally in l_a_
and says great to be involved in some of that
and what what do you hope will be the legacy of gaya sex
well i think that the what got you six is trying to do at is succeeding at
uh... which is spectacular
working to expand the conversation in this country uh... that veterans are
people who don't need
handouts the people who can help out and and uh... they are people who like i
said
you know either innate or specific
uh... like experience and training to be leaders in our communities and so for
them to come back an
be able to sort of find help find networks and relationships to you
continue to serve um...
and the goodness continues as one of those groups that really does
extraordinary work to do it the six-month fellowship
and they take these uh... veterans in the put them through uh... a program the
id
there are three goals at the end of that fellowship one of them is up
person of higher education one of them is a full-time employment or the other
one
is a permanent will serve as the community
aim which of those uh... is it's something that the allows it to me
benefit that allows letters to benefit
really great
and here is the most inspiring passing here today that you goin to spend some
time with for this event
um...
why i think that there are our art
too many inspired people here to really count um... i would say
that uh... i'd i've met a number of betar is here today
who unit
any any number of room uh... you know
just blow out of water any
anywhere else that i would have otherwise met today because their life
experiences just so
it's funny how it was working
tell stories about
high stakes in heroes in life and death in circumstances in
these people live that
and so you get to meet them and and and work
with them side by side is really inspirational around
thank you so much and
uh...
ideally we have ammunition alive parle real quickly have uh... thirty three
percent and believe the most assistants needs to be
and a half packed
today it's the civilian military gap where do you think about
those pen is between that
that that i have sex with
the civilian military gamble what is them as all bs important one to you
would you think the gray without
it's funny thing because if you actually stop and think about what a
pillar does you know it helps something stand up and i think you can start just
sort of sale this was more important that one but the truth is that there
isn't an aspect of the
you know the connection between
sickly population and the veterans uh... of this country that that shouldn't and
can't be
strengthened and um... and and celebrated so i feel like
you know that the great thing about this is you know when you look at that the
two point four million veteran since nine eleven
that are returning to this country uh...
there are these you know these incredible opportunities in each and
every one of them
to uh... provide their communities with
you know with
guidance and leadership and and in real service and communities all across this
country are desperate for just that
so it sort of feels like my favorite our problems and working on a movie or
something uh... arthur miller two separate problems
and the consult each other
and by like moving that things are changing that thing two things happen
disposable as opportunities you know they're at their communities in need of
leadership there are people who are
in a wonderful at at being leaders
uh... who need
roots in networking to help them find their way to
to be that
that person
and that civic leader and so
the group of these meetings regarding sex
is is really helping to build a bridge one will attend the aca
yeah and and i i thought yes exactly that is that as soon as you sort of
connect the students together nai there's a problem you know that the the
natural leader finds their mission again
lazarus to continue and the community organization
those looking for someone who knows how to manage and lead and died uh... finds
that person is sort of you know win-win
okay well thank you so much stayed up all of them dublin and with bad bad bad
but yes if we sell appreciate you know and thanks for the next my i thank you
i would love to have you introduce ourselves as i live audience right now
go live audience when he was in the morn morris uh...
uh... on a plate winston on new girl and uh... yet how that's me abt us address
you on hulu
quite frequently and i appreciate the humane u_s_ senate
integrating the coming to you
well thank you very much i really appreciate you watching
are humor and when you go home to okay
that what is it that you know and adding into that the seventh of analyzing
affiliation in and out of men
on the on the other half of excited
i'm just commented you know to do my part to give back uh...
is weird actual you know if i hear a lot of times only remove all of this jury
involved a charity
is usually just you know when it's that kind of
deal but uh...
this is cool we get to actually see what's happening in actually bag
it's almost like bagging groceries you know i mean it so we get to stuff these
bags in uh...
to give tickets winning is good are used to be one of the
you know uh... under underprivileged kids so i think it's really cool that in
all these guys
and then women of comebacks you know to do something like this
wisestamp aditya time gettin and
what does the mission continues it mean for you personally do you have
connections
with the any better ends in your own personal life
i devote right don't but i always i see guys
that the uh... they told me the stories are and since you are not you know
pose veterans which i think this is terrible you know i mean and uh...
the mission continues i think it's a great i think it's a great program
because it gives you something to do
and to feel that you know and to be
uh...
i guess
deal put to work you know that so that's what we do as a human beings you know we
were actively do sweet do stuff
and and and tell someone that you know winnow winnow purely needed is i think
it's awful and i think it's uh... escreveu making you know day out you
know whether it's
you know about what this charity whether it's going back to teacher you know
activity mentioning earlier whether it's coaching a football team you know it's
it's as long as you're active as on zero
you know reciprocating and you know and doing your part of it is great
did you guys in honeywell thailand
all of this entertainment industry
new lululu i grew up in chicago
uh... chicago illinois
uh... forty foreigners out then
nai yet or the starter
i've been here before houston
and said now that you're in
passed in hollywood and the entertainment industry how does it feel
to be doing more than just aguilar glamorous acting and living the life
here in l_a_ what is it whether that means he's really a plan something nine
means a lot you know it's a the filling in for his regular stuff you know you
might memorial easily right uh... of a mum
even when i was little
weeks ago different uh...
uh... amala hide my family in the church we would go to you different nursing
homes and we would like seeing him like helped i'll let you know around arsenals
of hospitals and
used to it that
uni work so much now with you know with the show and
just as my job working so much now you don't get a chance to to do it is often
blurred its really cool when you can actually
common right now you know
and this is just one seven seven one which is that that was so glad to be
doing it again
and can you give us adequate bulletins click shout into agnew ga and anything
else you might have
uh... yet uh... e i'm working on new go right now we were in season too
and uh...
in a recent said tuesday nights at nine on fox soul please watch
thank you so much for joining us have a great rest of the day great immediately
love the monster
and of
can't steve but
alice great to be rugs are happy to be there
that's what got you a sixteenth here
means that
these patterns of done so much for century and it's just as kind of
giving back to them and helping them out and helping them find places to wear and
you know you know what we're doing today with the flu drive and and
really means got your back if that's what it means a military that and so
it's best thing that we've got their back to you know
and so they have a thing to be a part of a specially herein
populated an unexpected yeah
it's it's our family
feel honored to be here today i am so humbled looking around at all of the
people
they're here because i've always hearing and they
really want to be here and it's nice to see
that side of hollywood cuz you don't see a very often
and we're glad
you know that we get to see ending time can you give dave audience that's
watching night
uh... idea of what what exactly that
doing out that would what's going on on this table
lemme tell ya
we all get
eyes were lined up like out the door we are glad that we finally get up to the
front and we pack uh... one of the scanned can i am afraid she that
applesauce all these healthy foods for these families out we packed up a back
and then we drop it off at the end and that we start all over anneke tonight
and that
bad there's a huge huge amount of bags out there
i haven't taken a picture of it yet but i'm going to hit the edited is mass that
and its so-called see all of these people helping out
to see the actual impact sensibly that yeah because you know we're doing and
we're going down my name
actually see issues man just like growing bigger and bigger out there it's
very rewarding
well i can tell i can kill ya positive energy about that is there such a great
things that you got a bad to be head today
i defy husky what is what do you think the biggest gap is between
that the veteran comedians and civilians community
in america today
when you think the biggest
and i don't know that i really understand the question
as far as what is it that
parity separating and
keeping the veterans
not has involved in and alike that they do that to be living here in america
do you think it's not so that they come back and
and i just disconnected wed easing that disconnect headed by disconnecting maybe
our own
people are intimidated
and they need a they can understand what they went through so they don't that
they don't know how to relate but i think if people are
ego out of our way more and you know but uh... go up to parents and say hi and
you know uh... i i think thank you for your service i think that'll go a long
way
very well thank you so much for joining us we'll add being a review and enjoy
the rest of the event anti-semites banks
and here we have a better read from it you can about cad
sneaky guys do you sound ideal from
i cited a primetime yeah
exactly uh... was going south on anything
adventist academy lebanon and i
not to go
sphere wilson
and what is your honor
involvement in this is an incentive for them talent you know
the event units about
i've got your back
you've got mine
and i think it's very important that you know when the facts come back for more
that they still have a place in abstinence he and two sons and be visas
because that's what they're obviously kota tina
and assisting i really don't need to come here and help out even though you
know i'm not american and british uh... least soon
and america
have yet to have make it
hai
weightlifting credit blessings and review things just joking just joking
mana
that we really had gone to be a patent is for you today and with some of your
friends that uh... setting alongside all that
has some ad
uh... jcc
and and not by he plays with them as well
we just that way
and what's your favorite pi uh... the morning so far
the people speaking to you
the assembly line of people in i'd not i'm acting and all back
acts to time
and that in the middle of the white sands and stuff update and then keep
them out
name
yeah
it's nothing as of that
it's not rocket occupancy dot mechanic
obscene the snow white i'd like in about five minutes or the backpacks committee
going up to schools and stuff
some spot factory laying out a mess up the people who don't have enough
and there is this something we i think about every day that it
something that where really able to impact in the apartment *** lau
fillets uh... about audio six for the mission continues
mission does continue doesn't it
specially here today
thank you for the opportunity to come and
well on behalf of the f_a_a_ cinemas you continue just so welcome and thank you
for being hand delivery packing that uh... backtrack
lapd labs leading lady in something radiator and enjoy the rest of your day
done by
so here i have one of the actual backpacks that we were just talking
about packing
that's came in and see what we've got in
inside
so we've got
i don't know if you all can see this i mean it point miss in your direction icm
mcentee that's also ice that's about it or not a bad
healthy snack frozen vegetables
this isn't this is something that
i've got a mounted showing me here
helping to show you
w box in the day back
went back and on a bus and this is actually seen a brand new
that what have you been up to today how u how are you feeling about today's
events so far
well i was appear to be interviewed but that's incredible event
for a great cause there a lot of people out here today transferred into the
camera
uh... that or just uh... full of pride to be
everybody's here
serving uh...
gratefulness so without a million back to the love lulu
and he is that thank you for the help
hearings started
well why don't you just act
uh... hai
and johnny littlefield from uh... a_b_c_'s extremist british
and seven eights at hands
it's wonderful to be here
wendy rush out he'll probably female wid
that giving back a atmosphere and the whole idea of that
that's exit will that's the premise of exactly what we do we we help our
deserving families that
reach out to their communities and uh... we really truly honor that life of
service
and i feel good sex at your dining hand
and how long have you been involved in guests etc
well it to be honest with you i just found out about blood uh... you know a
mission continues a new about that i didn't know geiger six was uh... a
continuation of that which is pretty amazing
uh... but you know chi six military time for thatcher back
you when you when you purchase of a harm's way
you not necessarily thinking about yourself you thinking about your brother
in for your sister in for you
and uh... there's a lot we can learn from just that simple concept
bring back in our everyday lives just
just it's if if you were just
a little bit nicer to everybody if you were just you know
it's it's amazing what
what that can do
you know and what it what it means that it's a satellite
of uh... a life of service
two others he's a life worth living or something like
something that i am albert einstein
so uh... but
it's it's true it's it's a life of service
and and we're here
to to serve
the men and women who have served us and that's truly an honor
it really is in on a
what do you think up and i've already in swatching on some ways deadline when
real time a main
what do you think at some ways that they can
in their communities in a moment at gives to a leads this school is
you know even just on a small daily basis any ideas
we live
in an absolutely wonderful time
where there is
really no excuse
or they know about it
mu really
it's called google
it's called the internet
it's called whatever you want to do
artist or you do is take it a keyword
uh... type in service and see what happens
and and
and there is there is no with small duty
you know i was actually talking to
uh... some of the guys from mission continues and i was a whatever i can to
help idea of service to you you know you know i'm sure some is get kids babysit
you know what somebody else is doing something there's no job too small
uh...
just get out there and do something right and do something serve your
community
uh... and and uh... life of service is is a true life
and there's and there's nothing
two small again take it you know if they can
on men and women
in uniform or so
important to me because the reason we can't do all of this is because of them
ill-equipped it's it's a cheesy
you know quote from a movie
but it's like
at the end of the day you want me on that wall because they are on that wall
they are on watch for us
we can do all of this
and and that's that's the most important thing
and your
absolutely sacrificing in serving our country in the greatest way possible
police we can do
is philip blue bag full of food it's it's an amazing thing
uh... i could talk forever
well i'm just how bad a at well we have a lot of time back
i know that you're gonna get out and pack some of the air bags so we so
appreciate and also
just one at ask if there's any discount house any of your bashing frenzel
community on the whole that you'd like to just
wed of
warm to all of our men and women in uniform you when you see them in the
airport stop and say thank you for your service it means
so much to them because the unilaterally come home the field
the and just what you know that they're not all
and you know
we've got your six
thank you so much have a great rest of the events to thanks so much by nice to
need
ice and nice here georgian
until around three needed within the contact the guy in six
and the mission continues that is the best of my guys he had birthday de facto
is that about twenty but i'll tell you uh... high with aggression some
applesauce out there and uh... at the
arctic structures thank you
of course might might cause i publicists over their uh...
we working so fast that the everyone is uh... it's like they're
there's a competition who can work the hardest
and so the people inline are actually beating the people worry stacking and so
i've been push into the crowd with
you know applesauce and syrup in uh... corridor kind of stuff raised above my
head
uh... people cheering me on the keep me going but i'm totally out of breath i'm
glad you got to have a briefing here
that we have said that the other hand
and i hear all the background of these things are really moving and and
happening out there in
many of these again these guys
such no held up in connecticut or something i have never seen such a pile
of like that
uh... it's just amazing uh... the amount of uh... of help that is going to go to
these people who really really need it
is fantastic and i'll have to see your pain a matching glove is expense
yup gotta make sure that we got the six uh... to make sure that the uh...
uh... military servicemen and women
uh... coming back to know that uh... where there for them and that we have
their six because if they came
accomplish what they have over in the field on uh...
on the on battleground
so easy for them to come back to the work force and
be able to accomplish things here
that's exactly what we want to be when it comes this things
on that i have just as they do for us everyday
it's it's like uh... when the german said earlier we should be serving them
but they continue to serve us it's just system making it such an honor work with
these guys it's going to be self left
for those that have been things that that we could all
tika a spoonful that minister
yes and how long have you been involved with the with
effectiveness and continued todays my first day but i i've been working with
uh... soldiers angels and with wounded warriors as well
um... both two wonderful organizations if you don't know about them check them
out uh... you can
and you can go online
wounded warrior soldiers angels got your six these are all amazing uh...
organizations that are doing wonders for these veterans coming back so
we s_l_ that they aren't daisy adam thank you so much into great passing
mediator work
if you needed if you need a break we've got coffee ever that is so
iraq
and now make three then arrest for the weary yeah
and use them out
and on behalf of
but does six and the mission continues
i would just love to say a big *** to use everybody has been involved thank
you for all of you viewing online and the oppressed and daniel polls that
you've been on saying
we are just glad to be a providing this opportunity to make some awareness and
these organizations checkout buddy essex dot alot and mission continues dot of
and and get on twist ag amp a spec
shad this event that you've been a pile of away so bad that we have amb in here
this morning at universal studios hollywood
