Facebook acquires the Oculus Rift, Smite launches out of beta, Wolfenstein: The New Order gets
a collector's edition, Game boy advance games coming to teh Wii U - all that and more coming
up right now on the Curse Weekly Roundup! This week's roundup has been sponsored by
LoL Lessons with Saintvicious, powered by Alienware.
Palmer Luckey, co-founder of Oculus Virtual Reality, now has another claim to fame: he's
a 21-year-old billionaire, after Facebook's recent acquisition of his company for 2 billion
dollars. Alright, so I know that money didn't just go directly into Luckey's pocket, but
still - as the internet was so quick to point out, a sum of money that large kinda takes
the wind out of your sails when you're claiming that this partnership wasn't about the money.
Anyway, people seem to be SUPER unhappy about this merge - and most notably, Notch has cancelled
some upcoming plans as a result. Apparently the Mojang founder was in talks about possibly
bringing a version of Minecraft to the Oculus Rift, but canceled on these plans, tweeting
that "facebook creeps [him] out." It appears that many others share his sentiment, spurning
threads on reddit about how to cancel your preorder, and urging others to do the same.
In less controversial news, Smite has launched out of open beta! Celebrating the launch,
Hi-Rez is holding a 200 thousand dollar tournament in Atlanta kicking off today - they originally
called it the Smite 100k but had to rename it after making so much revenue off the no-longer-available
Poolseidon skin. Oops, we raised TOO much money! If you can't make it to Atlanta to
watch in person, you can check out Twitch.tv/SmiteGame to watch the matches streamed all weekened
long.
Once again, this Roundup has been brought to you by LoL Lessons With Saintvicious, Powered

Bethesda has unveiled a collector's edition for Wolfenstein: The New Order. Limited to
only 5000 individually nubmered editions, the Panzerhund Edition as they're calling
it will run y ou a pretty penny at $100, but includes 11 classified documents such as maps,
case files, and even an x-ray, an 8" articulated Panzerhund statue, a display book containing
14 full-color postcads of the game's alternate history, three high-quality, embroidered patches,
and a set of custom molded replica dogtags. But, notably lacking in this collector's edition
is a copy of the actual game. Confusing at first, but this allows you to keep your preorder
(and your retailer of choice's preorder bonuses), still getting the game right at launch without
having to wait til play while a gigantic box arrives several days later. What do you guys
thing, worth it? That's a lotta *** for your buck, if you ask me.
