>>My fondest memories are of Sundays in about 1945, a few families would go around to the McCullen's and listen to the wireless, we'd all jam into the room, sometimes 20, sometimes 30 of us and we’d tune into Max Afford's serial Hagen's Circus, it was a memorable experience. [music]
Occasionally we’d watch a film, 'All about Eve' immediately comes to mind because I took Henny to the drive-in on our anniversary that year in 1954, it was the first year drive-in’s came to Australia.
But entertainment has changed since the 50’s, Rob’s world is completely different and Georgia’s… well I can’t really comment I really don’t understand hers. [music]
>>Digging around in brick brac shops for rare records, that was pure pleasure for me. After I’d spun them to death I’d swap them with Tony across the road… Why buy two when you could share? Besides it was legal under the sale doctrine to pass music on then, unlike today! [music]
My wife and I travelled a bit over the years, especially in the 70's, pre kids…, they were the days! My key travel companion back then, besides (Jill of course) was my Kodak Retina IIIc 600 camera, it cost me an arm and a leg…but meant that we could capture 120 moments of our holiday to share with family and friends at slide night on our return. [music]
>>I love chilling out watching TV soaps on the TiVo, I feel like it knows me. When I sign in all of my recommendations are sitting there waiting… it’s amazing.
I think I’m hooked on iView as well, sometimes I start watching a show on my laptop and then when it’s time to go to work I’ll just continue watching it on my mobile, on the bus via 3G mobile, easy.
After the shows I jump online and discuss the plot with friends and other fans and then I usually Tweet about what I think is going to happen next week.
When I’m not watching TV I am usually online gaming. I don’t do it by myself though, I usually hang out with friends and we play multi-player, it’s much more fun that way it means we’re all socialising just in an online space. At the moment I am hooked on Pet Society.
I guess you could say I’m pretty hooked on my gadgets. I can’t even imagine what life was like for my Dad or my Grandad. [music]
