I moved to Waco when I got married and I was
trying to find a place where I could get my degree,
but the options around this area are kind of pricey.
So it seemed best to take online courses.
When I saw the Google and it came up and
it said Stephen F. Austin as one of the
early childhood or elementary education.
I thought that would be prefect.
I found it to be the best option.
It was the only place to do that, that was accredited,
where I could pay state tuition was
at Stephen F. Austin.
I like online courses because I do my lectures real
efficiently online and do my work at my own pace.
The interaction with the classmates was with
classroom discussions through discussion boards
and it was very professional, because we couldn't
just say, "Oh, I like what you said."
You had to cite what they said using research.
You have to actually prove what you are saying.
You have to back up everything you say.
You have to know how to write well.
You have to know how to communicate with your
professors through writing and communicate
peers through writing.
I really didn't do well face-to-face.
I had a 4.0 in both my undergraduate and
graduate school, because I did so well online.
The professors at SFA really knew what they were doing.
They focused on learning centers and I use
learning centers everyday in my classroom.
I love being a teacher because I get to work
with children and see them blossom.
Kids Just make my day.
I just love my job, even if it is the hardest day
of the week, I still love it.
