Ok, now we are going to do one of the trickier parts of the doll and that's trying to get
the hair, to stay in the head and to close up the head. So, we're going to go ahead and
start on the shoulder, make sure your head is still lined up, we're going to put it in
your sewing machine on regular, mine is usually set at a two and a half. Make sure you back
stitch it so it doesn't fall out as soon as you're gone and make sure all that hair is
well tucked away because you will have to cut it, if it gets stuck. I'm going to go
ahead and pivot, I usually try to do a straight line up, a little bit for the neck, not much
because it is a little kid. Kids don't have much neck. Then we're going to go ahead and
go around, the rest of the way and just try to hold everything in place as well as you
can and try not to get the hair. This is another spot, you don't want to skip on, trying to
be cheap on not having enough seam because, if it rips out, it's going to be a lot harder
to fix, once your doll is all the way together. Just hold your hair in place and go all the
way around it. And when you get towards the bottom, you can push the hair over to the
side where you've already sewn.
Make sure you're shoulder is still lined up. Make sure you don't have hair going down too
far, this side of the head or else it'll look kind of weird. Remember our hair grows, from
the front you only see it above the ears, so that's usually where I'd try to start,
is about where I would picture the ears. Now we're back to the neck, go down through the
neck, just a couple stitches and then turn pivot, for the shoulder and back stitch on
that, to lock it in and it should look something like this.
