Happy Monday, Attackers, hope your weekend was swell! I'm Mark and we're back to get
you all the latest news for today, August 5th. Today we'll talk about SOE's big EverQuest
Next reveal, Project Titan's monetization information and a little bit of infinite crisis.
Sony Online Entertainment managed to steal the attention of the MMO world this past weekend
with their fan event, SOE Live. While a lot of the news coming out of the convention were
your fairly straight forward updates and road maps, it was the EQ Next reveal that really
stole the show. Tons of new features were revealed, including the launch lineup of races.
Expected to be available day one will be the humans, dwarves, dark elves, ogres, kerran
and elves. Nothing really ground breaking or unexpected there. What is cool however,
is that players will be able to create their own class through unique combinations of skills
and abilities. MMO Attack had an exclusive interview about EQ Next while at SOE Live,
so be sure to check that out for tons of more info below!
Development surrounding Blizzard's upcoming MMO game, currently codenamed Titan, has suffered
it's fair share of road bumps, most notably with the massive setback in development it
suffered back in March. Details on the project have been scarce, but it finally seems like
we have some concrete news regarding monetization. Speaking to investors, Activision CEO Mike
Morhaime recently stated, "We're in the process of selecting a new direction for the project
and re-envisioning what we want the game to be. While we can't talk about the details
yet, it is unlikely to be a subscription-based MMORPG." So good news for fans of the F2P
market. Now if only WoW would get over itself and hop on the subscription-free wagon as
well.
DC Entertainment and Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment today released a new behind-the-scenes
peek at the closed beta MOBA game, Infinite Crisis. The new video showcases some of the
games most defining features with interviews from the likes of Geoff Johns and Jim Lee.
There's also some additional information regarding the DC Multiverse, an important background
aspect of many of the games released Champions. It's unlikely that the video will appeal to
anyone but the super fans or the super nerds, but if you're anything like me, then odds
are, you'll love it. Check it out linked below.
And finally, one quick mention... Dragons of Atlantis: Heirs of the Dragon, a stand
alone, mobile version, of the super popular Dragons of Atlantis was released just last
week. I've been playing it all weekend, it was perfect at the airport to and from SOE
Live. It's really good fun, so we highly recommend you check it out on your iOS device, coming
soon to Android, and maybe even join the MMO Attack Alliance I started yesterday? It's
just me and one other newbie right now, so come help us out because we will need it.
You can find a link to that in the description below.
