Hi, my name is Monique and I would love to share with you some knowledge about singing.
Your handy hint is about the flute whistle register.
The flute whistle register is for the really really really high notes.
And it starts on B about the treble stave and above
In modern contemporary music there aren’t many of the singers who go up into the flute whistle register.
That’s why it’s extremely impressive when they do.
Ah an example would be for example Mariah Carey you know how she does those really really high notes that almost sound like a flute or a whistle.
And I believe that on rare occasions Christina Aguilera has also gone up into the flute whistle register.
In classical music, for example opera, the B note that starts the Flute Whistle register is often referred to as, “the money note.”
So when, for example, sopranos can make that B, it’s very impressive.
In fact, there’s some types of sopranos, called a coloratura soprano, who actually go even higher then that, they can go way way up very very high and it is very exciting.
Now I know I’ve spoken a lot about female singers in this particular video, now don’t worry you gentlemen,
the next video is all about falsetto which is something very special that only you gentlemen can do.
So we will discuss that then.
If you have any questions about this video or if you would like me to do a video on a particular topic you’re not sure about, please leave a comment below.
And remember your handy hint, the flute whistle register is from high B and above.
God bless.
