Mexican style Hot Sauce. Stay tuned.
Hola
Hombres. Welcome back to TastySauces.com. I am your host Billy D.
Today we're trying a couple Mexican style Hot Sauces. I'm sure everyone is probably familiar with these.
We got
Tapatio and Cholula. These are really popular
probably on every grocery store shelf in the US.
and basically Tapatio is
made in California but is Mexican style Hot Sauce and this Cholula is straight out of Mexico.
So let's go ahead and get to the taste test on these. Now, the Tapatio Hot Sauce, just looking at it, it's a very
thin
sauce. Everything's is real pureed and the ingredients are very simple.
They got water, red peppers, salt, spices some garlic in there and some xanthan gum.
Typically with the Mexican style Hot Sauce it has more flavor than heat.
It has got a mellow smell to it. Definitely not getting a whole lot of heat off there.
Really thin stuff so you have got to really shake it.
mmm
Not bad. It's really mellow. I am used to the really spicy North American Hot Sauces so
really am not getting much heat off here. And
the flavor is really mild. I can't really put my finger on it
As far as my 5 star scale, this stuff is not bad but it wouldn't be my first pick.
I am going to give it 3 out of 5 on my 5 star scale. As far as the spicy
heat level, I am going to give it a 1 on there. Really didn't get much heat out of there.
Now, checking out the Cholula Hot Sauce, for ingredients it is even simpler. This one has water,
peppers, salt, vinegar and spices.
It has got a nice hearty, little red color to it
Everything is real pureed. It has got a little bit more flavor coming out of it.
The opening is a little bit bigger so pouring is a little bit easier.
They got their little signature
wooden top there.
This one has got a little bit more bite from the vinegar. There is really not that much heat
coming off of it.
Really not a huge fan of this one either. I would probably give this one
3.5 out of 5. I would pick it over Tapatio Hot Sauce. As far as the
spicy/heat level, I'd probably give it a 1 as well there.
I want to thank you guys for watching me try out these Mexican style Hot Sauces.
Stay tuned for future episodes as we're going to try out all kinds of hot sauces.
I'll talk to you guys later. Bye.
I know what you are thinking, we left Valentina out.
