Hi. This is Rich Buccola and today on behalf of Expert Village we are going to make lasagna.
We're going to get a high flame under about 5 quarts of water in our Dutch oven and we're
going to add some salt and some olive oil. About a pinch, just a little handful of salt,
and olive oil. We're going to use about 2 tablespoons of olive oil in this water. The
reason why is we don't want it to stick. Get this to a rolling boil before you add the
pasta. That's the trick. Always have your water continuously boiling before you add
pasta. It also will help prevent it from sticking. Whatever you're labeling says on your lasagna
to how long it should cook. I usually go 1 minute before because I like it a little al
dente. And don't forget it's going to cook in your oven. So we have a rolling boil here
and that's exactly what you want on your stove.
