This week we're going to show you
how this limited edition print by David Lozeau
ended up on a Fender Standard Stratocaster.
(intro playing)
Hi again everyone, welcome to
another video from 2tu Guitars.
Hope you're all doing well.
This week, we're going to talk to you about
a 2015 Limited Edition Fender Standard Stratocaster
featuring artwork by David Lozeau.
So back in 2014, Fender and the Southern Californian
artist David Lozeau got together
to produce a series of Fender Stratocasters.
Released at the NAMM Show in 2015,
there was an initial run of four Fender Stratocasters.
These Mexican-made models featured four different designs:
a Dragon design, a Rose Tattoo design,
a Sacred Heart design, and a Tree of Life.
Later on in 2015, another limited edition run was done,
and this featured the Voodoo Priest design.
David also designed two special editions
for the Fender Custom Shop.
Along with the four designs that
actually made it into production,
David also submitted two other designs which were rejected.
One was a Octopus Tentacle design,
and the other was a Mariachi Skeleton Band.
And as you can see from this picture,
David has each design on a guitar,
including the two that didn't go into production.
So here we have the Limited Edition
2015 David Lozeau Standard Stratocaster.
And as you can see, the Voodoo Priest design
covers the entire front of the body
and the pickguard is also printed
so that it fits in with the design on the guitar.
Like the four earlier releases, this is a limited edition
and only 500 guitars were produced with this design.
The guitar is made in Mexico; it's an alder body.
It features a one-ply pickguard.
Now as we've said, it's printed to match the design.
Three single-coil standard Stratocaster pickups.
A six-point vintage style tremolo bridge,
five-way selector switch;
tone one, tone two, and master volume.
The guitar does not have the front body contour,
and this helps the printing process
of the design onto the body.
The back of the guitar does have the normal body contour.
It has the normal Stratocaster back cavity and back plate.
And it has a four-bolt neck plate,
the neck plate featuring David Lozeau's logo.
The neck of the guitar is made of maple.
It's one-piece; it has 21 medium jumbo frets
with a modern C-shape profile, one string tree,
and standard cast sealed Fender tuners.
Standard Fender logo.
And the Limited Edition sticker.
So next we'll give you a little introduction to the pickups.
As we've said, they're Fender standard single-coil pickups,
and the amp we'll be using is our Fender Tweed Bronco
from the mid-'90s.
So we'll start off with the neck pickup on its own.
[guitar playing]
So that was the neck pickup.
Then we'll go to the next position,
which is the neck and middle pickups together.
[guitar playing]
So that was the neck and middle pickups together.
And now we'll go to the middle position,
which is the middle pickup on its own.
[guitar playing]
So that was the middle pickup on its own,
and now we'll go to the next position
which is the middle and bridge pickups together.
[guitar playing]
So that was the bridge and middle pickups together,
and now we'll go to the bridge pickup on its own.
[guitar playing]
So that was the bridge pickup on its own,
and that was a just a little introduction to
the five positions on the selector switch with the pickups.
So that's the 2015 Limited Edition
Fender Standard Stratocaster featuring
David Lozeau's Voodoo Priest design.
Limited to 500 pieces, it's an alder body
with a matching pickguard with
the design printed right across the body,
no body contour to the front.
Three standard single-coil pickups,
five-way selector switch,
body-mounted jack input as usual for a Strat,
six-point vintage style tremolo bridge.
Body contour to the back,
usual Strat back plate over the compartment.
Four bolt neck plate, David Lozeau Design logo.
Maple neck, 21 medium jumbo frets.
Modern C-shape neck profile.
One string tree, standard Fender logo.
And six Fender cast sealed tuners
with Limited Edition sticker.
