Welcome to the “Finding Articles” section.
We’ll be discussing strategies on searching for articles through Google Scholar
and subscription databases. We’ll examine some advanced search features,
understand the difference between popular and scholarly sources, and
introduce some concepts on evaluating articles.
As you navigate these pages, the main topics are shown above.
Clicking on any of these will lead you to their respective content.
Once there, the pages are generally organized in this fashion:
A pre-test option can be found near the top.
Short text, from 1 to 3 paragraphs, explores the main ideas.
An embedded YouTube video is usually available.
The content found here reinforces the main points and supplements that page’s text.
Near the bottom, practice activities are available
to help you reinforce your newly acquired skills and academic understanding.
Note that not all pages will have practice activities.
Also near the bottom, a post-test option allows you to assess your knowledge on the particular topic.
To navigate back to either the main page or to the “Finding Articles” section,
click on their respective links on the four-color pen.
Have fun exploring these new ideas.
Remember that a librarian is available through email, phone, in person, and 24/7 chat if you ever need help.
