This is an A-shaped mandolin that features a satin finish on it which is regarded as
a little bit more desirable tone wise by some players, and like all mandolins, it has unison
double strings tuned like a violin. This mandolin also has a pickup installed in it, however,
it's not a magnetic pickup attached to the top, this is built into the bridge. It picks
up the vibrations and sends that to the jack where you can plug a cable in and send the
signal to an amplifier or a recording console, as you need. The spruce top is a laminate
construction and a sunburst traditional kind of spray pattern. The back and sides are a
mahogany style wood, and this particular instrument again, like most affordable, have an open
tuning machine in the head. This again offers a good instrument at a reasonable price for
most players.
