I am a chef professor at the college, and have been a chef and restauranteur at numerous
top rated restaurants in Toronto, San Francisco and NY.
I would like to give you a brief introduction to the online interface you will be working
with.
When you access your class, you will be directed the the home page. It is here that you will
find the following resources; contact information, testing and assignment information, along
with blackboard help.
Next lets look at the navigation bar, which you will find on the far left.
With this tool, you can easily navigate through the course content .
Announcements will be made regularly, and are forwarded to your email. So, Please make
sure you check your inbox often.
You may contact me through blackboard, but for a more immediate response, please do not
hesitate to contact me directly at swoods@georgebrown.ca. My contact information is found on the Home
Page. Upon contacting me you should receive a response within 4 hours to 8 hours; often
much sooner if not immediately.
So now, if you could take a moment and tell us a bit about yourself in the "Introduction
Thread" found on the discussion boards. This is a good exercise to become acquainted with
the interface and posting on the discussion board.
You will also find a help discussion for all you technical and content related questions.
I will moderate this thread, but I encourage all of you to help each other whenever possible.
