We're just gonna start with a dry surface. And then,
you'll gonna have to aim the ball of clay to the center of the plate, like this.
Just throw it on.
Centering process, there's two steps. Step one,
pushing the clay upwards with your left hand
and your right hand, helping it.
Bring the clay up like this.
Coming down, this
knuckle here should be at the level.
Just push it forward.
The clay will come down by itself.
To this point, I need some help. Gonna redo it again.
Push the clay upwards.
Sort of clamp your two hands together
to get the clay to move upwards and then, as you're coming down, just hold the clay
forward
and then the clay will come down by itself.
Use the weight of your right hand on top.
This falls down nicely. Okay, one more time.
So by pushing it up and down,, you'll get it centered.
You're also doing a little bit of wedging to get rid of some air
pockets.
Now the clay is ready to be opened, so we'll
point our thumb to the center like this
and press it downwards.
You should come down to the level where it's at the same level of this line here.
So we can measure like this.
Once you have a hole,
we gotta open it.
So pull your right thumb
towards yourself.
Once it's opened,
you'll start the pulling process.
First pull will just be from the outside, press in
one hundred percent,
hold it gently and move it upwards.
Now I'm gonna press it on the outside so it's a 80 percent pressure, inside,
20.
Now hold it and move up.
Same pressure all the way.
Clean off the sides.
One more time, 60 percent pressure on the outside,
40 on the inside.
All the way, finish!
Give it a little bit of shape.
I'm just pressing my sponge in
and the inside
finger is right at this point here.
Now I'm pushing my thumb.
I'm going to start
trimming off the bottom.
