Hey everyone! My name's Omni, and this is Phil,
and we are creating a video game called Gutsy the Guinea Pig.
And this is the first video in which we're gonna tell
you a little bit about that.
Yes.
So... Let's do it...
Let's show them now!
We came up with the idea for the game when we were sitting on the sofa
Just trying to figure out what kind of game can we make and we were playing with these things
they're called -- I'm sure a lot of you are familiar with Bucky Balls
and uh, I was thinking, you know, what if we made a game about magnets?
a game where you only move around by repelling or attracting to different magnets.
so that's how the idea started. The idea of it being centered around guinea pigs
really resonated with us because, in a way this game
is our guinea pig. It's our first test subject as
our own little development studio. In College, Phil and I were actually graphic design majors
but we got asked by a guy named Todd Bluhm to help him with a video game project he had started
and we had a small team and we finished
one project called Function.Repair. After that we definitely
knew that we wanted to make video games for a living, so
we started our own company and
me started on our first project, which is Gutsy the Guinea Pig.
The way you play Gutsy is very simple. It's a one touch game, so there's no
on-screen joysticks, there's no having to hit all these different buttons,
it's one-touch. So you just change your polarity and that's how you move around.
You are a guinea pig inside of this magnet ball suit,
and basically you touch the screen to change
your polarity from north to south -- or in our case, red or blue.
and you attract yourself to the opposite colored magnet or repel from the same colored magnet.
We've been working on this project for about a year and
we've got a lot of work ahead of us still, but we've got a lot of stuff that we want to
show you guys
So I hope you guys are looking forward to the next videos we put out
and I guess we'll see you guys then!
