Time to get to the drawing board and show you a product that was designed by a Queensland
Mum for her own young children after not waiting them to get sun burnt when riding their scooters
and bicycles, and after seeing way too many infants, children and adults on bikes, scooters
and in bike seats with little to no sun protection. So lets review and show you the Treadley helmet
hats
The Treadley helmet hat is a fitted cover that sits neatly over a bike helmet to provide
great sun protection. It does not interfere with the helmet straps because it sits over
the top of the helmet and it has an elasticised base and fits snugly around the hemet to minimise
exposure to the face, ears and back of neck and the eyes. Treadley helmet hats are available
for children and also have adult sizes for you to choose from.
lets take a closer look. So you have the hat peek which is a good size
not too big, underneath the area and all the way around the hat to secure it on you have
this elastic here and it has a loop and toggle at the back so enables the hat to fit on different
shaped and sized cycling helmets. Also you have a reflective tag at the back so helps
the rider to be seen and then at the top of the hat we also have breathing holes to allow
airflow and helps keep the head cool.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words so lets get out and see it in action and to
help us in our bike adventure were taking our Strider no pedal Balance bike. So lets
go
And where at the park on a beautiful sunny normal Australian day The treadley helmet
hats are designed to minimise exposure to the face, eyes, ears and back of neck as you
can see here.
Most of the children’s styles have a UPF50+ rating to provide young children with the
highest level of sun protection. The Treadley helmet hats are endorsed and there sold by
the Australian Cancer Council and are made of Nylon Taslon which is tough enough to stand
up to my kids test treatment.
Available in 11 unique designs, with the styles aimed at different age groups from infants,
toddlers and older children (up to 8-10 years). Alright we have had our fun & its been a beautiful
sunny day and were going back to the studio for the Pros & Cons.
Pros This is pretty obvious, but those great the
sun protection factors as the hat does cover the ears & also neck really well.
The looped elastic and toggle allow for easy fitting and adjustment and it does Stay
on the helmet . Say good-bye to putting a standard cap under
your helmet first which can really get hot against your head.
and its got the endorsement of the Australian Cancer Council
Cons The Treadley helmet hat is a closet fitting
style so it may not fit oversized, aerodynamic, bucket-style helmets or helmets with non-detachable
visors so you should check the helmet fitting guide to confirm what helmets are suitable.
