Hi, I'm Kim Redding, here on behalf of Mine Safety Center
We're gonna talk about: "If I'm a contractor,
and I'm in management for this contracting company, am I subject to personal
fines?"
Well, the answers yes.
So under the Mine Act, an operator is defined both as the mine operator,
so whoever is in charge of the mine,
but "operator" is also assigned to any contractor that comes on to a mine site
So, if I violate the law, if I knowingly violate a law
in anyway, so somebody tells me I have a problem out there,
safety violation and we don't address that or we don't do anything to mitigate
that,
then as management in a contracting company, you're subject to personal fines.
And one of things you need to know is: if you're subject to personal fines
anybody else above you on the later is also subject personal fines based on
your action.
So,
in the future look forward to
"how do I avoid
personal fines?"
