North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's aunt Kim Kyong-hui is believed to have either been
removed from the country's parliament or to have stepped down of her own free will.
This despite the country's recent rubber-stamp elections, where Kim, the wife of the recently
executed Jang Song-thaek, was listed as a member of the Supreme People's Assembly.
Officials from South Korea's intelligence agency said Thursday that the Kim who is listed
appears to be a person with the same name who was also present in previous elections.
That Kim represented North Pyonganbuk-do province, the same constituency that Kim Kyong-hui was
elected to represent in this year's election. Officials also do not exclude the chance that
Kim Yong-nam , chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly may have also
been eliminated.
