ADHD, its almost an epidemic thats affecting our children and yet mainstream medicine answers
sometimes have complicated side effects. What are the alternatives when it comes to treating
ADHD? Coming up next.
Alright, Im here with Jade and Acacia. The owners of Wise Life Naturals. And were
going to talk about ADHD. I must profess to almost complete ignorance. I dont really
even know what it stands for. Can you tell me what it is, and really what it is about?
Jay: Im not an expert, but I can give you a laymans understanding of what ADHD and
what ADD is. Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and they you got Attention Deficit
Disorder. And the distinction between them is essentially one includes the hyperactivity
its heightened. And the other one doesnt.
So thats what that means. What does that mean when it actually shows up? Suddenly your
kid has this. Or someone tell you your kid has this thing. Youve got some experience
with this Acacia. Tell me a little bit about the reality of being an ADHD childs parent.
Acacia: My child doesnt have any of that, but Ive worked a lot with kids and teenagers
whove been diagnosed with these. It means that they have an inability to focus or concentrate
on work or anything. They get very distracted easily. Theyre very sensitive to their
environment.
This is going to be a problem when it comes to education. When theyre sitting in one
room being asked to focus on one thing all day. Almost strangely unnatural way when it
comes to childhood. But this isnt only a childhood thing. Can you tell me, does this
affect people beyond their childhood and adolescence?
Jay: Absolutely. Adult ADHD or Adult ADD, are both very common. ADHD, ADD, is something
thats been around as diagnosis since the 60s. So its progressively become more
prevalent in our culture. Especially in the US and so theres more and more drugs. More
and more different types of stimulants, amphetamines, being prescribed for it.
Lets say you figured out that you or your child has this ADHD or ADD, what is the typical
mainstream medicine response? What sort of things do they prescribe? And maybe what are
the side effects of those prescriptions?
Acacia: Typically, theyre prescribing Ritalin and things like that. I know that they have
a pretty extensive list of the negative side effects that one being disrupts the neurotransmitters
of the brain. When a child is prescribed this, their natural ability to make those synapses
happen is now dependent on that chemical in their body.
That sounds a little bit like something that would be addictive over course of time
Acacia: It can be, yes.
What were going to talk about here is ways to arguably work with ADHD, resolve those
things. There are things can say and cannot say. We cant say were going to fix this.
But I know that thereve been some stories when it comes to your particular formulation.
You guys created something called AdderPlex which really deals with I guess memory, concentration,
focus, some of those really core issues. What are some of the stories that have come back
with people jumping on to AdderPlex? What sort of outcomes had they seen?
Acacia: I feel extremely passionate about this issue because I work so much like I said,
with teens and children. It feels like its a pretty strong epidemic in our culture that
we just see this kind of behavioral issues, and we dont look at the underlying causes
of it. Were just simply giving them a quick fix to the problem. One of the reasons why
I wanted to particularly develop this product is to help these kids and adults with this
thing to really support their system as opposed to breaking it down. I was working with this
one particular teen and he was having a lot of trouble focusing in school, getting really
bad grades. And his mom is coming to me with all these anxiety herself on how she can help
her teen. So I recommended this product and hes been taking it and seen some pretty
remarkable results. He started be able to focus. Hes actually really focusing on
what hes passionate now. When I first started seeing him, he was really having trouble even
grounding in to his own body. I felt like he was so scattered and out there. Slowly
I can really see him coming back and integrating into himself. And now hes really passionate
about getting off his drugs because he just feels intuitively that theyre not right
for his body.
Thats very interesting. Final question to you Jay. Were trading in tricky ground
here. FDA is very clear about what you can and cannot say. My understanding is that its
a good idea to think of Adderplex which is a natural health supplement, as a complement
to whatever medication. But that you have observe, there might have been stories about
people being able to move a little less medication as the supplement over time build that natural
resilience. Can you talk to me about the context about AdderPlex? And how it might be a good
complement and then the outcomes that youve seen or heard about through selling lots of
these stuff? That have to do with people coming off those more side effects heavy mainstream
medications unto supplements like this.
Jay: I like thinking of it as a complementary medicine. The complementary way of working
with the symptoms because thats what were really talking about. So anything like ADHD,
ADD, its just the grouping of symptoms all clustered together saying thats what
that it. Its far better to take and support find the symptom, like lacking ability to
focus or being hyper all the time, and build up the core resilience. So that the natural
health and natural state of being calm and responsive could be sustained.
That makes total sense to me. There you have it ADHD, ADD. And when it comes to supplements
as natural complement to mainstream medication. More on AdderPlex coming up in the next video.
