When ever I start to work with someone on their health, making better food choices and
going organic the issue of cost often comes up. and rightfully so. Especially if what
you’re used to doing is just rolling through the drive thru. swinging by the gas station
or shopping at Aldi. So i want to share with you two really important lists that you can
take with you to the grocery store so you know which fruits and vegetables you need
to buy organic and which ones you don’t have to. I will have them in the description
below so you can just copy and paste them to your phone or you can write them down as
I read them off just to help them get into your brain. but I know my side for a memory
doesn’t work for *** so i end up referring to these fairly often while I’m shopping.
So we’ll start with the bad news and they’re called the dirty dozen and these are fruits
and vegetables that are heavily pesticides in the growing process and tend to be things
that we eat in their entirety, skin and all and since the skin is where most of the pesticide
residue is if you find yourself eating them conventionally be sure to give them a really
good wash or even peel them first. But ideally organic is best. and these include apples,
peaches, all berries, grapes, celery, spinach, kale, tomatoes, cucumber, white potato and
snap peas. So again this is the dirty dozen and these are the ones that are the very best
and most important to be eaten organic. So next up is the clean 15 and these are fruits
and vegetables that have less pesticide use in the growing process or have a nice thick
skin that we don’t really eat and tend to remove it, leaving the protected meat and
juice on the inside. This includes avocado, non-mo corn, pineapples, cabbage, onions,
asparagus, mango, papaya, kiwi, eggplant, citrus fruits, cantaloupe, cauliflower and
sweet potatoes. So this is a pretty great list of fruits and vegetables that don’t
need to be purchased organically. some of my favorites and some of the ones that are
the most expensive if purchased organically. So this is a way to keep cost down while still
making really great food choices for yourself. Please remember when making these changes
to always shop local when you can shopping local makes such a difference in bringing
demand up, cost down and investing in farmers that are making really great quality food.
A lot of times locally farmed food is way less chemicalized and pesticides anyway. And
sometimes it’s completely organic and they just don’t have the funding to purchase
all of the certifications needed. So any you get shop your farmers market, local CSA and
look for the local food signs in the supermarket. If this video was helpful to you give it a

this information matters the most to. And if your ASMR was deeply satisfied by hearing
me read off a list of fruits and vegetables via video than please consider leaving a tip

I’m only sort of kidding. Thanks for watching. Healthy shopping. Peace out.
