Hello my lovely people, my name is DGrouse
and this is the second video in this 'wiremod tutorial series'.
today we're going to be working with
wired 'holo-emitters'
and there are two ways of making this
the first way is the entity version,
and the second
is the 'target finder' version.
Now, this on me at the moment is the 'target finder' version and so I'm gonna
turn that off and turn on the
entity version
so the entity version is a lot smoother
and the 'target finder' version
is more a 'snappy-to-grid effect' like that.
So, let's get started
Now firstly we are going to need a PHX plate 1x1
and I'm going to set that up here,
on this roof
because it's the best place to be
and we're going to try out
making the entity
version of the wired
'holo trail'
and this gate here, what it does, it selects me, pretty much
annnnnnd
this gate position
it will
get the position of the selected entity now the entity,
is me
so it's gonna get my position
and there it is.
All right,
now we're gonna get our 'holo emitter',
and you can find this in
wire render.
I usually place it in the middle because... you know.. It's like the main object.
Next thing you'll need is a numpad input
set the value onto twenty,
cos that's our size
that we're going to using for the holographic emitter and set it-
make it so that toggle is on
annnnd
let's set it to the..
on the numpad, make it zero. Im going to put that up there.
Now what I like to do is...
I go into my gates here... annnd
let's find logic gates,
then we get a 'not invert'.
And what this will do is whenever it equals zero, it's going to equal one
but if it does not equal zero, then
it will not equal 1
so we're gonna put that on the 'numpad input'
it's already set to zero,
so lets see, - it says it..
It sets it to one.
annnnd we're gonna
set that up so it's on the clear, annnd we're gonna
put active there
our colour
- oops not there ^_^
Our colour, we put that to position
annnnd -__-
let's put our
position
to my position
fade time.....
actually,
There's one else, - there's one other thing, I'll explain that.
Ok, we've got our fade time to there, our line beam to there,
and the size
to there... Now,
what we can do is...
The trail itself, it's gonna to be long
like that and it's gonna make some lag and it wont fade away properly,
It's just gonna
do that sort of effect to it, fades it out in chunks.
That's
probably not the best effect for it I personally think,
I much prefer to have... this
what it is, is a constant value and the number is just one.
And so it's gonna fade after one second.
and that already looks a lot better.
You'll get a lot less complaints if you doing this on an rp server as well
and that's basically it, for
your entity version of your
wire
'holo emitter' trail
Lookin' pretty good. ;)
Alrighty >:) now we're going to work on the target finder version of this
same as last time, a plate one-by-one
I'm going to put it
above this
conveniently placed stump
- and move it out of the grass... Now,
we're going to look for target finder, you'll find that in wire beacon. and
I usually like to
put it up the top there
it doesn't matter where you put it
but in the parameters here make sure you have the range on the
maximum
and even add even more zeros to that if you can
because you're gonna need the range for it and
have it set to target players,
and the name filter, just write your name in there, it doesn't have to be the
whole name but make sure it's different from everybody else's and
there it is, Now
what we're gonna need
is a beacon sensor to go with that
and make sure you select "output world position"
or else we want get that... if
it's not there. Now
target goes to
one and
now let's get a 'holo emitter'
Let's place it in the middle
as always
annnnnnnd
ah yes we need the
logic
not invert
and also
vector gates
now we're gonna get compose and what it does is it brings
three values together
and sets off as a vector
now a vector is
three values in one...
let's just call it in one packet
now we're gonna go X
to world X
Y to world Y and Z to world Z.
And we still need our numpad input
so
here it is
and I'm gonna set it to the dot -
delete
on my numpad
toggle same as last time
and lastly
we need that
constant value of one
Alright, time to finish up the wiring on this
okay so let's
put that together the not invert
to the wire numpad input and
get our position and put it up to the compose
we could just do X,Y and Z but we can't get our
colour
as X, Y and Z
so we put our colour vector
to the position. Now fade time
fade time to constant value
Line beam
to
the numpad input and ground beam...
I'll show you what ground beam does.
It will project out lines
from the
holo emitter itself.
Usually you don't really want that. Now,
let's set the size to the 20, the clear to the not invert and the
active, to the numpad input. And there it is
Got yourself a nice little trail, you can go out
playing around in the woods and showing off your new
wiremod skills... Yeah good fun
I hope you've leaned a thing or two
from this tutorial and leave a like, favourite, comment
subscribe, all that and it will be
greatly appreciated.
Alright, have a good day :D
