The National Breeders' Expo 2013 has just opened.
Every year I'm here at this expo. I'm curious what the American market has to offer.
Today I'll be looking about. Let's find out what interesting things there are. Enjoy!
Here we have the gigantic animal from our intro. A gecko from New Caledonia.
It's a Rhacodactylus lechianus.
To my knowledge, it is the largest gecko species in the world.
It is really a ginormous animal. It probably weighs half a kilo or even more.
This is really great.
Up until now, so far this is my highlight of this years show. I’m excited to find out if there is anything else at this show that can come close.
This is absolutely breathtaking. I totally fell in love!
This is Steve from Leapin' Leachies. He was kind enough to lend me this gigantic Rhaco.
He's got various Rhacodactyluses
They are all live bearing.
Stefan: So that is an acquisition for life. They can live past 30 years. This animal is unbelievable.
Here we have my booth.
I tried to promote and sell my book a little bit.
I was rather successful. There aren't many copies left.
I flew in my assistant from Canada.
This is Ken Kuberski from Canada. We know him from previous shows.
Here we have some really nice Leopard Geckos.
Het Radar.
Whatever a Radar is supposed to be. I have never seen one before.
Here we have a Pastel Puma.
This is real highlight for Ball Python fans.
Here we have many hog noses.
An Axanthic Anaconda.
Here we are at the booth of 'Breeders Circle', the place where breeders go.
Here we have Jonathan Foltz - he's the company's boss.
He is also in the Ball Python business, just like most of the people here are.
Citrus Pastel hidden gene Woma.
Citrus Pastel Soulsucker.
Pastel Soul Sucker.
They've got some really nice Pumas here.
This is the booth of Morton Wright Reptiles.
Morton really is an institution in the reptile business.
He was among the first to have the Spot Noses.
Many Albinos. Here we have him, this is Morton, vivid as ever.
I would say that they are the largest reptile breeders in the world.
Here we have NoCo Reptiles and this is Marshall van Thorre, he is the owner.
He was one of the first to breed the Crystals and he had his own special line of animals.
Particle Crystal.
Chocolate Crystal.
Hypo Crystal.
Pastel Special. Bumblebee Crystal.
Super Special.
A Banana VPI Axanthic.
These are probably one of the first.
This is Sean Bradley, his company is Exotics by Nature. He is also in the business for quite some time now.
Banana Axanthic.
Here we have some interesting Clowns. What people are trying to do right now is to breed reduced pattern Clowns.
That is so cool.
YellowBelly[ball].com. This is the company of Amir Soleymani, we're also old acquaintances.
They have some really nice animals.
Candy. Candy Pure.
These aren't Candinos, these are real Candys.
For my taste, this is really awkward.
Snakes and turtles with a children’s head on it.
Ok, everybody has different preferences.
This is a nice Lavender Albino.
Here we have an Ultimate Ball.
Some pretty Pumas. Amir was the first to breed Pumas.
A Citrus Puma - it's a Citrus Pastel Puma.
A Champagne Super Stripe.
A very cool animal.
Here we have Steve Roussis.
He's always got quick remark or something else to say.
Steve is someone that is happy and content - always.
He's got some really nice Candys.
Pastel Candy, very cool.
Nice!
A Pastel Leopard.
Some really nice Ghost Pied.
A Pastel Ghost Pied.
Well, it's sold.
It's hard to guess judge the real size of this expo.
If I compare it to Hamm, the hall here is much larger and the roof is higher.
However, in Hamm, there are several halls. All in all, Hamm has more exhibition space to offer.
However, the hall here is delusive. It is much larger and the ceiling is higher. It appears to be much smaller, until stroll around.
You do need about one day until you where at each booth.
Here we have an other old acquaintance, Vin Russo from Cutting Edge ***.
He's well-known for the Russo Leucistics.
And for his Albino Boas.
Hypo Sanoran Leopard.
These snakes are very cool! Russo Red Boas.
It's a must to offer some Ball Pythons.
Here we have some nice Corn Snakes. Tessera Pieds.
Here we have Brock Wagner Reptiles.
Brock is the godfather of the Bananas.
Currently this is probably the most expensive animal of this years expo.
Let me show you what you can achieve with an Atomic.
Here we have ...
... down here, we have an Atomic Fire Pastel.
The funny thing about the Atomic gene is that, animals are more or less split into two parts.
One half is split and is very bright, just as we can see. They really are divided into two.
And ... the right and the left side ... both have different colors.
There is always a stroke through the head. Down there we can see it again. It's an Atomic Spider.
But with this animal here, it can be seen the most clearly.
Here we are with Dynasty Reptiles, we also know them from previous years.
They have some real highlights.
A Corel Glow Enchi Bee.
A Corel Glow Enchi Calico
A Corel Glow Super Pastel.
A Corel Glow Sterling.
A Corel Glow Cinnamon.
Corel Glow Lemon Blast.
These animals are fantastic.
Corel Glow Enchi Axanthic.
This year the show belongs to the Corel Glows and the Bananas.
There are quite a lot of GHI Balls.
Here we have a GHI male.
A GHI female.
Albino Champagne.
A Corel Glow male.
Here we have Don Soderberg, he is one of the top breeders when it comes to corn snakes.
I believe he was among the first to breed the Palmetto Corns.
He also is into the Scaleless Corn snakes.
Super Perfect Scaleless.
Here we can see the baby snakes.
Stefan: So the het Palmetto are still worth 2.000 $.
Palmetto for 5.000 $.
In Germany many people are waiting for the Palmettos to arrive. But as you can see, a female for 4.000 $.
They really are maintaining their price.
This is kind of a booth from Australia.
Todd Shaffer, Axanthic Blackhead.
Here we have some really nice black heads.
Another Axanthic Blackhead.
This one here is interesting. Coelens Python. It's a hybrid of Boleni and a Carpet.
A Carpet Python. For that reason it is a Coelens Python.
Here we have another Coelens.
Turtle Source. They have a very well done booth about turtles.
Tortoises in general, but especially turtles.
Here we have Reptiles Magazine.
Everybody in Europe used to obtain that magazine somehow. Well, that was before the internet went big time.
Nowadays, due to the internet, it isn't that essential any more.
But now you can read the tablet version.
Bearded Dragon Central.
A show special, only 30$.
They have some very nice displays. Very well done. Citrus het Hypo.
We aren't allowed to have such displays in Germany. We have to keep our animals in solitary.
These here are called Crimson Red.
Actually they are really red.
Here we have some Hypo Translucent - Hypo Leather.
Of course all the large companies, all the international companies, like Exoterra, have their large promotional booths here.
Here they display their merchandise.
That's all from Daytona 2013.
As every year, this expo was very interesting. For the reptile universe it was somewhat of a trend-setter.
We saw many new animals and got an impression what will come in the future.
I hope I was able to show you some great animals.
Until next time and until the next reptile expo.
Ahh, here we have Wayne.
Wayne is this shows host.
You heard it. The show is over.
As is our episode.
Until next episode. Remain faithful.
And, check my Balls!
Ahh, excuse me.
So this is how Santa from Canada, that produces chocolate looks like.
I'm not joking. He's a worldwide chocolate producer and seller.
Damn it. Get into focus!
Alright, I won't do Zoo Med, they are lacking focus.
Two idiots and no one has got an idea.
