My name is Ashley Lau and my course is Law and Business. It seems like a nice University,
and when I first got here the campus was quite easy to get to, it was easy to locate. It’s
really warm and it’s a friendly atmosphere, a lot of people around and you just never
feel lonely when you’re on campus.
The facility for my course, it’s just normal lecture rooms and also rooms to teach the
class, but I think mainly for law we have a third floor a business school. There’s
mock court rooms and these can hold mock trials and get us trained for the legal
professions. Students find it really enjoyable because the court room’s set up to be like
a real actual court room. All the tutors that I’ve met at the University are really helpful,
they’ve inspirational teaching. They don’t try to force
teach you the subject, they guide you. If you’re actually stuck on any problem they
would always find a way to slowly guide you back. They won’t tell you the right answer,
but they will guide you to the right path. The teachers that teach me for law are former
barristers and also the business side, the lecturers, they’ve already worked in big
organisations and then come into teaching. I definitely recommend my course to new students
just because it’s a brand new experience. You
meet all these new people, the lecturers are really helpful and really supportive and also,
the University is a really nice University overall. I’ve really loved my time over
here in Huddersfield, I’ve met so many people and it’s given me so much
and I feel like I’m really happy to call it my home.
