NANCY: Hi, I’m Nancy Brown, Chief Executive Officer at the American Heart Association.
JOE: And I’m Joe Selby, Executive Director of the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute.
NANCY: Together, our organizations are excited to announce a new joint initiative,
called Precision Medicine Advances Using Nationally Crowdsourced Comparative Effectiveness Research, or PRANCCER.
JOE: This one-month challenge is designed to give
patients a forum to discuss their experiences in seeking care for heart disease and vascular
conditions, and give their perspectives on what matters most in the healthcare process.
NANCY: By sharing their stories, patients can help
us identify and address the most critical unmet needs and questions facing them.
JOE: They say there’s strength in numbers, and
that is the exact objective of this joint challenge. By getting as many people involved
as possible through crowdsourcing, we can create a database of feedback that is truly
robust and comprehensive.
NANCY: Ten of our submitters will be selected for
a prize of $1,000. Our deadline is June 8th. Your input is completely confidential, and
by taking part, you’ll be making a vital difference in our efforts to create a more
positive experience for every patient.
JOE: If you’d like to take part in PRANCCER,
please visit the website address you see here. And thanks for helping the AHA and PCORI work
together to improve research and care for people with heart disease and vascular conditions.
