Gloria Victis is an independent project born of passion.
Despite lacking funding, we are motivated by the drive to create a game that truly belongs to gamers.
The combat system in Gloria Victis operates on a non targeted basis
a system where players take full autonomy over their attacks and must strike in the correct direction and from the correct distance.
This means that the skill of the player plays an integral part in the outcome of fights.
However steadfastly charging into battle will only get one so far no matter how skilled one is with the blade.
As Realism is a key development concept, there are many factors that can affect a situation,
therefore to be truly successful in Gloria Victis the player must be able to think tactically
and take advantage of terrain as well as incorporate the environment
such as weather conditions into their decisions on the field of battle.
Tactical thinking extends to the relationship with other players.
A lone wolf can only achieve so many things, whereas collaborating with like-minded players
will allow the quicker achievement of mutual goals
and the shared tribulation the womb of many friendships, oaths and allegiance that will persist long after.
Gloria Victis offers sandbox character development and players will not be made prisoners to a particular class
but instead will be free to progress their character as they please and become proficient with all weapons.
The equipment system in Gloria Victis is modeled after authentic medieval weapons and armours
and encompasses a range wide enough for everyone to have an unique appearance.
Weapons and armours will be balanced in such a way that there will be none that trumps over all others
and instead each having their specific strengths as well as drawbacks.
Immersion is another key quality of the game,
as such NPCs do not stand around idly serving simply as props for quests.
Instead they lead their own lives such as practicing their craft and interact with the environment as they are part of the game community.
The player must interact with them as they interact with other players
and take note of the different personalities and dispositions of NPCs and deal with them accordingly.
We are an independent project and do not have the luxury of multi-million dollar budgets that studios enjoy, that is why we need your support.
So if you too share in the vision of a realistic game,
if you too support a developer that acknowledges that gamers own a project as much as developers do
and if you too believe in the passion as a drive then support us,
support us by spreading word about this project; tell your friends, family or even your creepy neighbour about us
or go one step further and take a direct involvement in the development by offering your skills and expertise!
Gloria Victis - A game developed by gamers, with gamers for gamers.
