Hello everyone. My name is Tasha and welcome to Heart of Tarts.
Today on the show we will be making a Pomelo Bow Tart.
I am sorry I could not be filmed today. I waited too late in the day and the lighting was bad
and I am a vampire and I would have melted and chaos.
So you want to start by preheating your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Then to a food processor you want to add in:
1 1/2 cups old fashion oats, along with 1/4 cup raisins, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon.
And, pulverize that together until it is well combined. It should look like a flour. Like that.
Next you want to add in 1/4 cup water and 3 tablespoons coconut oil and just pulse it until it clumps together.
Press it around the sides and bottom of a 9 inch tart pan. I have a nice technique there if you want to use it.
And then bake it for 15 minutes. Now I am going to make my filling. Yay, we finally have a new filling that isn't green.
I added 1 cup of pecans to a food processor and I ground those until they were like a flour,
and when I thought is was processing, I dropped in two bananas. It made it extra creamy.
Watch. Look, extra creamy. I just thought spread that around my tart crust.
I was really excited to have this new filling. It is sweet. It is creamy. It is perfect. And, I love it and hopefully,
you will love the newness too. Because I know some of you were probably tired of avocados and bananas.
Maybe it was just me and we need more than just green to back up our tarts.
Now here I thought I would show you what the Pomelo looks like. As you can see that was the top.
I just peeled it off as I am peeling off the rest of the rind. It has a really think white rind or pith.
That is what the pummelo looks like once you have it all peeled.
Then I supremed it just by peeling off that inner skin that holds it all together each segment.
That way, you get the bright beautiful color.
I was a tad bit disappointed, because I was expecting to have a red pomelo.
They come in two colors. This yellow color which is also beautiful. In fact I like this yellow because it goes more with the bow
You have like yellow delicate bows for little girls like me, but I was expecting the red like a grapefruit.
I was originally supposed to buy a grapefruit, but they were destroying my produce section.
I could not find it, but I have always wanted to try the pomelo and it taste like a grapefruit but just a little
more sweet. And, I really didn't know where this design was going even when I drew it.
It turned out perfect. You just layer them on, then lay the little thing and lay the other little things.
There is your bow. Thanks for watching. Bye.
