Hi my name is Brendan Killian, I have been a professional painting contractor for the
last 25 years, and today I am going to show you how to paint a living room. As you can
see it's a pretty standard space, maybe 12 by 12 with a drop ceiling, we're talking about
8 feet maybe to the ceiling, and some bay windows and a beautiful fire place. The client
wants to change the color pretty dramatically. Right now we've got a brown on the walls and
we are going to go with a black. So once we've settled on a color, I went ahead and gathered
all the supplies that we'll need for the project. I've laid them out so that you can get an
overview of them right now, but I will explain how each tool comes into play during the course
of the project. As you can see, I brought my drop cloths, I've got my patching material
which includes joint compound, and my various tools that I will be using to apply it. I've
got some sand paper, dusk masks, here's my caulking materials, including a gun and a
sponge which will ease the smooth it out. Off course, I have my brushes, and various
rollers, and roller sleeves. I also got my ladder over here, and off course, the paint.
I've got a flat for the wall, a semi-gloss for the trim, and we also have a primer that
we'll be using. So let's get going.
