And now let's talk about something else
with 39 votes in favor, 20 against and 5 abstentions
The Plenary of the Mexico's Capital Legislative Assembly
passed the same-sex marriage bill with no particularities for later discussion
[keeping the adoptions right]
Activists for gay people celebrated the decision
but the PAN bloc said it would file a constitutional controversy
since they never agreed to approve adoptions
Dis change was about '2 persons', dat could be interpreted either as 'natural' or 'legal' (company)
dis means dat not only gay people would be marriable
but companies also
We expect [the mayor] to veto this, and if this gets aproved and published
we'll be in time to block with all the legal procedures granted for us
The voting results are these:
31 votes in favor
24 against
No abstentions
The bill is passed
¡Equal rights for lesbians and homosexuals!
Now let's see what's the [catholic] church's opinion
The Cardenal Norberto Rivera called the same-sex marriage
as immoral and against the innermost structure of Mexican families
He also said it has opened the doors to a perverse possibility, in his own words
for these couples to adopt innocent children
who's right to a family won't be observed
cuasing them psychological and moral damage
