So now we're going to take a look at our first chord and where all these chords are on the
low E string and A is found right here on the fifth fret on the E string, so all our
chords we're going to show you right now are going to retain the A. But, again they're
all totally movable. You can play them here. You can play them here. You can play them
up here. You can play them up here. But, if you move to a different string the voicing
changes. So, we're going to learn three basic chords on three different strings. So, we'll
start right here. Our first chord is our major chord and we have five and then we skip these
two strings and we have six, seven, seven. So, you're plucking the top three strings
and the low note. And if once you have that done you can use your ring finger to reach
over and get that fifth there right there on the seventh fret. And that might take you
awhile. So, right now you can just learn this simple chord and we'll show you it on tab
in just a second. First I'm going to show you your minor chord which is five, three,
and then you barre five with your ring finger. And then to get your seventh chord you want
to barre and you play your seventh right here and I'm playing the A String, the G string,
and the B string and you have five, five, six, five. So those are your first three chords and we're
going to show you the tab very quickly. You want to make sure you write this at home so
you can reference back to them. Again, these are just patterns so we start on the low string
here, we have five, seven, and this is the optional seven, if you want to play that in
there. Five, six, seven, seven. Then your minor chord is five, three, five, five, five,
five, and then your seventh chord is five, you skip this string and then you go five,
six, five. So you want to write those three chords down and start practicing them and
getting them under your fingers and once you have those chords down we'll move to our next
string which is the A string.
