Today on our 2014 Chevy Sonic, we'll be test fitting the Thule Vertex hitch mounted
four bike rack, part number TH9029. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of
the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. After lining up the pin holes, we'll thread
our anti-rattle bolt through the pin holes, and tighten it down using a wrench. With the
bike rack secured, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two
fit together. We have about twelve inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the
bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about three inches away, and we've
added about twelve inches to the overall length of our Sonic. We can now lift up on the gray
lever at the top of the mast and swing the cradle arms out. With the cradle arms out,
we've added about thirty-five inches to the overall length of
our Sonic.
