If this is your first time accessing the registration system
and you are a lead or single, or sponsoring entity financial institution
this video will show you how to create a new FATCA account.
If you are a lead, single or sponsoring entity financial institution,
start the registration process on the Financial Institution Account User Login page.
Member financial institution accounts are created by the lead financial institution.
To register, check the box indicating you have been authorized by your financial institution
to create a FATCA registration account on its behalf,
click the Create Account button.
Next, select your financial institution type.
It is critical that you select the correct financial institution type
as it cannot be changed once the account is created.
If you do not know your financial institution type,
click the help icon for instructions.
You can find more detailed information on the FATCA website,
at www.IRS.gov/fatca.
Click the "Next" button to continue.
Select and answer two challenge questions. These will be used if you ever need to
reset your access code.
Click the Next button to continue.
Create an access code that you will use each time
you log into your FATCA account.
Re-enter the access code.
Click the Next button to continue.
You have successfully created a FATCA account. Your FATCA ID is displayed on the screen.
The FATCA ID is system generated and consists of numbers and uppercase letters.
The letter "O" is not included.
Record your FATCA ID and access code, because you will need it
each time you log into your account.
This concludes the demonstration of how a lead, single or
sponsoring entity financial institution creates a new FATCA account.
Again, you can find more information on the FATCA website, at
