"The program that we are participating in today is the American College of Veterinary
Ophthalmologists' service dog campaign. This program is to provide services to animals
that are companion-type service dogs and other service animals like horses and other animals
that provide service to humans."
"June does lots of things for us; mostly she is a skilled companion."
"What we're looking for in these exams is anything that might be causing vision problems.
From problems with the cornea, cataracts, and anything that is wrong with the retina.
The important thing is to be able to tell the owners if there is anything they have
to worry about in the future. Is there any concern they have. Is the dog going to have
any vision problems, or more importantly, is there any medication or therapies can be
done to help improve their vision.
The ophthalmology here at NC State University is one of the largest and most important services
here at the College."
