Hey Golden Eagles. Welcome to Del Oro News. I'm Lida Landre.
And I'm Avery Peck. Today, we'll check out Phillip Murillo's new segment called "How
To", get a recap of Homecoming week,
and find out how students and staff respond to some trivia questions.
All of this and more.
Hey Lida, do you ever wonder how to tie atie? Yes.
Write a news script? Sure.
Survive a zombie attack? Of course.
Procrastinate? Not particularly.
Well get ready as Philip Murillo teaches you how to do some of these things, starting
with how to make mac and cheese. I can hardly wait.
Hi, my name is Philip Murillo and welcome to the very first episode of Philip's kitchen.
Today we will be making macaroni and cheese - Spongebob Edition.
Now this macaroni and cheese can be made very well if you have the right skill and ingredients.
Now, to make mac and cheese truly the greatest food ever made, you're going to need
some key ingredients. You are going to need some butter.
You are going to need some milk, some shredded cheese,
and a dash of garlic powder. Now, you may want some sides with this dish.
We're going to be making ours with some excellent, excellent garlic bread. So let's make some
mac and cheese. The first thing you are going to want to do
is fill up a pot halfway with water, and turn the burner on.
So now that you are waiting for your water to boil, why don't you just take a nap?
Oh snap. Now that your water is boiling, you can now
put the mac and cheese in. Opening it may be harder than you think.
Now pour the mac and cheese ever so slowly into the pan, stirring it any way you can.
Now that your mac and cheese is cooked to perfection, add the right amount of milk and
butter. Now you've got to put in all of that cheesy goodness, and a touch of garlic powder.
Now that you are done with your mac and cheese, it's time to pour it in your bowl.
Now you can sit down and eat with all your friends.
My name is Philip but this is Mr. Domeny.
Just throw it in there and cook it. This is the classroom in which he teaches.
But his real passion is the kitchen. He has been a teacher here for 15 years and
loves to see the light in students' eyes when they enjoy cooking. If you want to join culinary,
I would highly recommend it. If you need more information, his room number is 113 in the
English hallway. Nailed it!
I'll say. And if you have any ideas on what Philip's next "how to" should be, email us
at deloronews@gmail.com. You know, I have something to teach the viewers
as well. What's that? What's the only planet that rotates clockwise?
Uhh.. Earth, right? Venus. You'd be surprised how many people
don't know that. What do you mean?
Well, Lauren King and I asked Del Oro students and staff some trivia questions. Let's see
what happened. Country. United States.
Africa? Egypt.
India. I think it's Mars but I really don't know.
Mars?
Jupiter. No. Darn. Mars.
Venus
Texas.
Texas? Texas.
Alaska.
No. I can't do it. Yeah. That's. Yeah. Not that elbow either.
I can't lick my elbow. No. Nope.
Hey Avery, can you lick your elbow? No.
Now let's check in with Serina for "Last Week in Sports."
I'm Serina Martinez and it's time for Del Oro Sports.
This week, our Golden Eagles swept the competition away.
Our frosh football players beat St. Mary's 38-33.
And on Friday, at the homecoming game, JV dominated with a score of 45-7.
Varsity followed with another win. Great games guys.
On Saturday, Cross Country had a great meet and we got some great footage to prove it.
Keep up the good work Eagles.
I'm Serina Martinez. Back to you guys.
What a good week for Del Oro. Not only was it a good sports week, but also it was a good homecoming week.
Oh yeah, I had a blast. Here's a recap
of the incredible week.
Seniors.
Juniors.
Sophomores.
Freshman.
Are you getting some action shots of this? You better be.
Is that a video? Yeah.
You know, I don't really know the names of the homecoming attendants and nominees, but
I'm pretty sure that I would like to win homecoming king. It's something that I never won as a
high school senior. So, hopefully a lot of people vote for me. Vote for Wilson, Thanks.
Man, I can't wait for homecoming next year. Definitely. But don't forget about what's
happening tonight. What happening tonight?
Close to 100 colleges will have representatives at Whitney high school for college night.
Oh, that's awesome. Yeah. It's from 6:30 to 8:30. It's free and
you'll be able to get all sorts of info about colleges around the country. Also, I found
out that CSF is asking for school supplies and hygiene items.
What for? They'll be sending these things to an orphanage
in Ethiopia. Just drop them off in the front office.
What a great cause. Well, thank you for watching Del Oro News. I'm Lida Landre.
And I'm Avery Peck. And you stay Golden Eagles.
