(Captain Scurvy). Arrr, welcome to another
adventure with Captain Scurvy.
Unfortunately, the captain isn't feeling too well today.
I think it might just be something I ate
during Thanksgiving.
Arrrr.
Captain Scurvy needs help on this one kids.
He's going to write a note to friend isn't that right
little parrot.
Dear Dietician Debby, help.
Love, Captain Scurvy.
What will be the fastest way to get this out?
Oh that's right, the bottle, where is me bottle?
Let's put the message in the bottle, it worked
in that Tom Hanks movie.
Arrrrr.
Let's hope this is fast.
[ocean soundscape].
(Dietician Debby). What was that?
A message in a bottle?
It must be a note from Captain Scurvy.
Dear Dietitian Debby, S-O-S.
Love, Captain Scurvy.
Looks like Captain Scurvy needs my help,
this is a dietitian emergency.
[knock at door].
(Captain Scurvy). Arrrr, shiver me timbers kids,
I wonder who that could be?
Arrrr, Dietitian Debby!
(Dietician Debby). Hello Captain Scurvy.
(Captain Scurvy). How are ye?
(Dietician Debby) I'm good, how are you?
(Captain Scurvy). Oh, I'm not feeling so well.
(Dietician Debby). That's what I hear,
let's sit down and talk about it.
So Captain Scurvy, tell me what you've been eating lately.
(Captain Scurvy). Well I've been following
ye's advice, I've been eating dairy
with the cheeses and the milks and I've been eating the meats
with fishes and the chicken.
And I've also been eating the breads and the pastas.
(Dietician Debby). Oh good.
(Captain Scurvy). And I've been cutting back
on the sugar and the butter.
(Dietician Debby). That sounds great.
That is what we talked about last time.
What about your fruits and vegetables?
(Captain Scurvy). What are fruits and vegetables?
(Dietician Debby). You don't know what
fruits and vegetables are?
(Captain Scurvy). Arrr, I grew up on a ship.
(Dietician Debby). Oh well, just so happens
that I brought this basket here of fruits and vegetables.
(Captain Scurvy). What a delight.
(Dietician Debby). First, we have a banana
which is a fruit, very delicious fruit actually.
We have this green pepper, which is a vegetable.
Then there's tomatoes, which can be a fruit or a vegetable.
Technically they're a fruit, some people say vegetables.
Then we have carrots which are great.
Oranges, these are kind of like baby oranges.
Celery and lettuce.
And all of these foods are delicious and can be used
in many different ways and many different foods.
So can you think of anything you might make to incorporate
some of this?
(Captain Scurvy). I'd eat all of this
but how many times a day do I have to eat these?
(Dietician Debby). You want to aim for at least
two or three times a day.
(Captain Scurvy). Oh I can do that, it's easy.
(Dietician Debby). Okay.
(Captain Scurvy). Shiver me timbers,
I can have and an orange maybe after a meal, I can put some
bananas in me cereal, and I could maybe make
a salad out of all these delicious vegetables.
(Dietician Debby). Exactly, that sounds like
a great idea.
(Captain Scurvy). This is so easy,
why haven't I been doing this the whole time?
(Dietician Debby). That's okay, now you know.
(Captain Scurvy). Thank you Dietician Debby.
(Dietician Debby). Thank you Captain Scurvy.
(Captain Scurvy). Well Captain Scurvy's learned
a lot today kids, especially about how to maintain
a good diet.
Remember you should have at least two to three vegetables
and fruits a day.
Until next time, this is Captain Scurvy.
